Last week, I was at @129experiences Varier’s Onam Sadhya, and what a spread!!! 21 dishes and I couldn’t get enough of Rasam!!! The best one I’ve had so far. Loved it so much that I got some packed and got it home. And the other thing I was obsessing over was the crispy Papadam..crushed over matta rice with parippu and a little bit of Vadukapuli achar! And guess what I ended the meal with…. Palada Payasam 🤤What feeling boss! Sirf paith nahi dil bhi bhar gaya tha yeh khakar🌸

I’m fond of eating rice with my hands and eating a meal on a banana leaf somehow just adds to the flavours. I love this tradition with all my heart and I wish to eat as many Sadhya’s in my life as I can! Felt very much like King Mahabali post this meal 😋🤤

Sometimes I miss the old Instagram. When it felt like sharing moments, not creating edits. No carousels, no aesthetics, no pressure- just moments as they were.

I wanted to post how my October to December felt, from October magic to New Year’s, but trying to make it “look right and aesthetic enough” got exhausting.

So here I’m taking the old route for now, sharing some of the raw, goofy, real and happy moments that feel just life as it was- full of love, friendship and magical ✨

With my feet covered in sand, the southern coast of Sri Lanka welcomed me with crystal-blue waters and waves that felt like an invitation-soft, steady, and impossible not to fall in love with. The sunsets here paint the sky in vibrant hues, the breeze cools your skin, and the quiet presence of Buddhist culture fills you with a calm you don’t even realise you were craving.

What I loved most about the south is how it balances calm and chaos so effortlessly. One moment you’re watching surfers slice through the waves at Weligama, and the next you’re clinking cocktails or stumbling into a beach party at Hiriketiya. It’s the kind of place that lets you choose your pace-slow, wild, or somewhere in between.

But the real joy? The tuk-tuk rides. Wide open roads, wind in your hair, the authentic charm of Unawatuna and Mirissa that offered great local walks, buzz of life- with beachside evenings and amazing food scene.

And the food…From street-side kottu sizzling on steel plates, to crispy hoppers, to spices that wake you up, to coconut flavours in ways you don’t expect- Lankan food feeds your soul. Add a cold local beer and you’re set.

And then there’s Galle Fort- its charming lanes, cafes, little craft stores, and colonial history make you feel like you’ve stepped into another world, almost like wandering through a beautifully designed movie set.
This trip was my first real international adventure-filled with memories, good food, little discoveries, and people who made it all better.

And now, I can’t wait to explore the northern part of Sri Lanka and dive even deeper into its culture.

Why is it that every time I think of an escape, the sea is the first thing that comes to mind?

It’s more than just a place- it feels like deep, quiet longing that I can’t shake. There’s something about being near the water that wraps around you like a hug, the kind of hug that makes everything feel lighter, even if just for a moment.

Maybe it’s the endless horizon, the depth or the fact that the sea has no end- it’s that feeling of belonging in solitude, in the stillness. Or maybe it’s the breeze, the sand between my toes, the sound of waves crashing… it pulls everything from my mind and leaves me just here, living in the moment.

Whether it’s a walk along the shore, diving into the waves, or just sitting and watching the tide roll in- in those moments I like myself more.

So when that urge to escape hits again, it’s the sea that calls me home.

And also if I ever disappear, you’ll know where to find me🤪
