NO SIGNAL EP OUT NOW

Three years in the making. Performed, broken apart, rebuilt, and tested in different forms across the country before becoming this EP.

Huge love to @rarasekar and @rounakmaiti for lending their voices and spirit to these tracks.
@dashrhl for guiding the sonic direction.
@arsh_goswami133 for patiently mixing and mastering this more times than I can count.
@satvikakundu, @sijya and @amaanwalksintoabar and @ankitchxgh for sitting through endless rants and helping me push through the self-doubt.

This project started in New York, sitting at a kitchen table after my OneBeat residency, trying to design what I thought were “impossible sounds.” It eventually found its final form in Greater Noida, where I forced myself to make countless variations of each track just to avoid taking the easy route.

No Signal lives somewhere between hope and resignation. Finding strange comfort in hopelessness in a world where you’re waiting for a change that never comes.

To everyone who heard early versions and told me this slaps, you helped this record exist.

Streaming everywhere.

This song delves into themes of nature conservation sustainability and politics all woven together with an instrumental made from radio signals.

We're sharing a video originally shown at the EP Launch at @rolandindiaofficial Artist center where @musikhara takes us through her creative process and how we first met at @foundsoundnation OneBeat program.

You can find the EP on all major streaming platforms as well as @bandcamp and @ninaprotocol.

The No Signal tour came to a close on 15 April in the most perfect way at @the_hummingtree Bangalore.

Sharing this final leg with @discopuppet and @dashrhl felt like a full circle moment. Couldn’t have asked for a better way to end it.

Huge thanks to @naquashv and @iambharavi for making this night something we’ll carry with us for a long time.

And to everyone who showed up on a Wednesday and gave us your energy, it meant everything. The community around this music feels real, and we’re grateful to be a part of it.

See you again soon 🥂❤️

#Review The use of noise and abrasiveness in electronic is not radical or even uncommon but hasn’t seemed to have caught on in the Indian landscape. The dominance and acceptance of melodic tastes are still largely unyielding to anything that inclines towards or resembles atonality. Dolorblind’s ‘No Signal’ is however a result of the maturity of the underground electronic and noise scene here in India. The album explores a sweetness, melodically speaking, and also retains a grime and tasteful incoherence, texturally.

If anything,’Omni 2’ is a victory lap, championing confusion and a violent affinity to explore deeper and easily misunderstood sonic worlds. This EP is important to underground electronic in India and largely the indie scene as well. Dolorblind hasn’t created anything new but his loyalty to his sonic roots has certainly shed light on the elusive underbelly of Indian electronic music.

Japan is turning footsteps into electricity! ⚡Using piezoelectric tiles, every step you take generates a small amount of energy. Millions of steps together can power LED lights and displays in busy places like Shibuya Station. A brilliant way to create a sustainable and smart city -- turning movement into clean, renewable energy 🌱💡 by @dolorblind
