Big up the dhut!

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Return to Primrose Hill is the debut tune from my new musical project, Dolores Says No. It's a song about finding beauty is a wrecked world through love, art and other things.

I'll be honest, I messed up the release date because of that weird date format that only Americans use, but don't let that put you off.

It's only on #bandcamp just now, it'll be on other things next Thursday. Link in bio.

Recorded with Stewart Robertson at @greenroom_rehearsals_glasgow

Thanks to @giusipal for the graphics and inspiration

"Grey over Riddrie the clouds piled up,
dragged their rain through the cemetery trees" #edwinmorgan

Tuesday saw a huge evening of music, poetry and comedy in Glasgow's East End. We've been putting on events since last year, but this was the biggest. A massive thanks to The Anvil, Riddrie for hosting.

Big up to all who donated raffle prizes. You are the glue of this community @strochsjuniorsfc, @togethercoffee2025 @margherita.pizzaria1 @thealasdairgrayarchive @studiopylon @cafezecchino

To all the performers, it was a real joy. To the audience, see you soon @eastendmyfriend

See you next time.

Dismayed by the demise of the dog track, Dolores Says No seeks musical opportunities in Canonmills.

'St George's Day' is a wee tune about the complicated nature of English identity.

Thanks to @harvey_bray for the recordings and @powderroompresents for the warm welcome.

Til next time.

SUNDAY SHOW UPDATE
We are bringing our Summer Party to Leith Mills this Sunday with fabulous features Faith Eliott and Shasta Ali. Get a ticket TODAY to support local artists!

Our final two Hame-ish Live acts... 🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁 please welcome Dolores Says No and welcome back Toy Hospital!
🎵 DOLORES SAYS NO
A Glasgow-statue-inspired songwriter, who says no to being socialised into passivity, and no to the insidious forces that seek to blunt our critical faculties (thanks to bell hooks and Jimmy Reid). They write about obscure historical figures, football sometimes and public transport. No to the powers that be. No pasarán.
🎵 TOY HOSPITAL
This band started in the bedroom of frontman Martyn Rollo Rose, where he recorded debut album Changed Priorities Ahead on his own during lockdown. Influenced by Midwestern emo and dour Scottish indie, the album trades between twinkly melodies and crashes of fuzzed-out guitar. Since then, a full band has formed (which until last year featured our very own Ed Ritchie on bass) to play many gigs and release a single, live EP, and a live version of Changed Priorities Ahead. For this show, they are playing as a duo- Martyn joined by Paul Grant.

Had a good time at @powderroompresents. Thanks for having me. On a side note, to the fella who was talking about the Picts during my rant about the Anglo Saxons, I'm up for a historical square go whenever. Come ahead.

Vids soon
