🏆Big congrats to @_chris_massaro for winning the HW class and IFBB Pro status this weekend at the USA’s.

Chris has been with me since 2017. 8 YEARS! We’ve won shows together, assisted him in getting ready for his military career and he took time off due to being in the army/personal life.

Jan 2023 he wanted to compete. I was of course up for the challenge as he was very downsized from all the activity being active duty in the Army. We won Jr Nationals that June as a HW. He wanted to keep going, I knew it would take some time but he was up to the task (as usual). 2 years later, here we are.

I will post some pictures of his journey throughout at another time. Enjoy your victory Chris, this is your moment. Thank you for trust, loyalty, and the opportunity to guide you on your life long dream. Means the world to me.

But, most importantly, CONGRATS to Chris and his soon to be bride @andriaalicea on their engagement this weekend as well. May god bless you both with a life time of good health, success, happiness and peace, in Jesus name!

Preaching for years and I’ll continue to do it, champions are made in the off season for bodybuilding. Prematurely going into prep or rushing into a prep puts you at risk of losing all that you’ve earned in your improvement season. This doesn’t really apply to the most top genetic crop of the sport for the most part but it does apply to everyone else. Building a worthy stage physique takes time and consistency. There is no way to rush it, at least when done properly

If you want to improve and do it right, expect to put your time in and take it as a marathon. Now of course, the prep strategy highly influences this as well which how you approach your prep and preserving that newly built muscle, and even possibly gaining in a prep (which is a very real thing for some)

Insane recomp with @drzaino ! Wanted to get shredded for his 49th birthday, did that and more. Whilst maintaining pretty pristine blood work throughout. Aside from health supplementation, he’s extremely diligent with his recovery protocols.

With guys as they get older, the body does not respond the same as when they are younger. Paying careful attention to health markers is only a piece of the puzzle. Stress resilience usually declines, injuries become more likely. But when all boxes are checked, the body usually does follow suit. by @domcardoneifbb

Picture says it all.

Get peeled. Most people don’t dig deep enough to get there or don’t know how. Real conditioning separates you from the rest of the pack in bodybuilding.

This is 40. After almost 2 years of set backs and health issues, 20 weeks of work and dedication bringing back the version of myself I love. This would not have been the same without the careful eye of my brother @domcardoneifbb . Someone who has always stepped up and been in my corner, especially when I needed it most. Humility is an understatement with Dom, only surpassed by his knowledge and instinct. Someone who fits the bill of what a coach and friend should be and more importantly knowing when to wear which hat. Thank you brother, I’m looking forward to the comeback even more! by @domcardoneifbb

11 years ago, 2015. We stuck with smith machine presses for quite a bit before eventually going back to dumbbell. Drop sets were always completed on this as delt training was always kept higher volume.

The highest I have gotten on this I believe was 4 plates per side for 10-12. This was during the time period of training 4 days per week. So each training day was all out effort. The body became so well programmed that I could feel by the end of a rest day I was ready to go again physically. As well by the end of 2 back to back days by body was telling me it was time to rest.

Excuse the quality, looks like it was shot on a potato, which it was being a very old iPhone. by @domcardoneifbb

Another throwback! @neil_yoda_hill1 leading @flex_lewis , @rafabrandaopro and myself through a Y3T workout at @the_dragons_lair . If I remember correctly, this was a higher volume week (not all exercises shown).

The pump was insane, and not nearly as much poundage was used the deeper we got into the workout. Good bit of intensifiers were thrown in between holds, negatives, forced reps. Whatever it took to empty the tank, but without sacrificing form. by @domcardoneifbb

Another throw back video of one of my favorite tricep movements from “back in the day”.

Oscar Ardon started me on these when I was 18 years old. We would do 4 sets of 20, not really going “heavy” or trying to set PRs. We would still progress up in weight as needed, but the volume throughout the workout really took the place of the need for having to add so much poundage people think they need. With direct bicep and tricep training, you really don't need to put up such tremendous numbers anyway. As they are being hit as secondaries with all the other body parts. I've noticed people that try to be "strong" with bicep and tricep movements run into elbow and tendon problems, as that was told to me by Oscar and @mountaindog1 way back then

Working the stretch on the negative portion of our tricep movements was critical for hitting the medial and long head of the tricep. John and Oscar stood really strong on the negative portion of the movement and getting a full “stretch”, played an important role in building that hanging, deep looking tricep belly and they were right by @domcardoneifbb

I have been digging up training footage from the past, which I don’t have too much of. But I have found a good bit I’ll be posting up as my social media game is awful lol

This was back in 2022 when @flex_lewis and I were training for his debut into open and my comeback which never got to happen which I will get more into for my new followers. I was 5 months into full swing again after 9 months of treatment for mercury toxicity

I remember at the time thinking non stop how small I was. Looking back at pictures, I can’t help to think how psychotic thinking like that was haha. The curse of most bodybuilders.

Seen much, done much... and made a lot of mistakes… and that was all a big driver in where my coaching is today. by @domcardoneifbb
