Starting next week, get ready for the Winner of the Best Director award at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival and Winner of the People's Choice Award at TIFF - LA BOLA NEGRA! Also known as The Black Ball, is a 2026 drama film directed by Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi (widely known as 'Los Javis' in Spain), from a screenplay they co-wrote with Alberto Conejero. A queer epic inspired by the unfinished work of the same name by Federico García Lorca and Conejero's play La piedra oscura.

The story of three men whose lives are intimately connected through desire, pain and inheritance, across three different eras – Republican Spain in 1932, the Civil War in 1937, and contemporary Spain in 2017. The film follows a constellation of interconnected lives centered on three young men, whose emotional and political echoes gradually reveal themselves.

It was selected as the Spanish entry for Best International Feature Film at the 99th Academy Awards and has received widespread critical acclaim.

Join us for an evening of laughter, mystery, and mayhem as we celebrate Tim Curry’s remarkable legacy next Friday with a screening of CLUE, the campy cult classic that brings the iconic murder-mystery board game Cluedo to life. At a mysterious dinner party, the game’s familiar one-dimensional card characters become fully fledged personalities, each armed with sharp wit, colourful neuroses, and plenty of motives for murder. It’s a deliciously twisty mystery guaranteed to intrigue even the most seasoned whodunnit solver. Originally released with multiple endings that varied from each cinema screening.

Curry stars as the delightfully unflappable Wadsworth, bringing his trademark wit, theatrical flair, and impeccable comic timing to the role. As the evening descends into increasingly chaotic murder and mayhem, Curry’s magnetic performance turns the mystery into a masterclass in comic timing and character.

Next Friday, join us in celebrating the life of the one and only Dolly Parton with a one night only screening of the 1980's feminist comedy 9 TO 5, a box-office smash and landmark feminist comedy. Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin and Dolly Parton (in her film debut) star as three secretaries pushed to the brink by sexism and inequality in the workplace. They decide to get revenge on their tyrannical, sexist boss by abducting him and running the business themselves.

Parton wrote and performed the iconic title song, famously creating its typewriter-like rhythm by tapping her acrylic nails together. The song became a global hit and one of her signature works, earning two Grammys and an Oscar nomination. Booking essential!

Join us one week from tonight for our next Dome Spotlight Screenings, NUDE TUESDAY, an absurd comedy in gibberish starring Jemaine Clement (What We Do in the Shadows), Jackie van Beek (The Breaker Upperers) and Damon Herriman (Judy & Punch). In an effort to rekindle the spark in their troubled marriage, 40-somethings Laura and Bruno head to a three-day couples’ retreat run by relationship and sexual healing guru Bjorg Rasmussen (Clement). Upon arrival, the path to their reconnection is met with hilarious and increasingly absurd farce. Spoken entirely in an improvised, gibberish-esque language with subtitles created by British comedian Julia Davis after production, Nude Tuesday is an utterly singular excursion into miscommunication, full frontal nudity and self discovery.

"Audacious is an understatement with this bawdy, absurdist comedy - body language, emotion and clownishness do the acting (with subtitles written later), proving silly, raucous and sometimes surprisingly moving." - Flicks Recommends

A week from tonight we have September's Far Out! Film Night with GUMMO, a 1997 American experimental comedy/drama film written and directed by Harmony Korine (in his directorial debut). The loose narrative follows several main characters who find odd and destructive ways to pass time after a cyclone has hit their town. The film was shot in some of Nashville's poorest neighborhoods. Producer Cary Woods comments, "we're essentially seeing the kind of poverty that we're used to seeing in Third World countries when news crews are covering famines, [but] seeing that in the heart of America."

"Gummo is a portrait of small-town Middle American life that is both bracingly realistic and hauntingly dreamlike” - Filmmaker Gus Van Sant
