SAMIA is one of the first artists that inspired me to make music in fact she is also the first one I ever performed my spoken word poetry with to her piano and songs. We performed in nyc and la about 10 years ago. Working with her put the biggest calling in my gut to make my own. Great things take time. I finally got to share my first two songs with her a couple of weeks ago and she just poured and poured into me . I love you samia! Thank you . I wonder if you will be able to hear a bit of her influence in my music . 🎶🎼🎤 by @dometcetera

I ROSEI’ve been writing poetry since I was about 12, maybe younger. I like the name Dom Etcetera because it means Dom plus all the things you have yet to see and I have yet to even realize about me. by @dometcetera

When I shared my song with friends they comment on how unexpected my vibe is. And I love that… when folks ask my genre I really don’t know ——-I was on a roll with my song but got a bit discouraged by my ear and vocals not being where I want or “need” them to be … but this happened to me when I was 10 and every year since… only difference now is I have no choice but to keep going. The urge never goes a way. Singing and making music is one of, if not the most vulnerable place you’ll ever catch me.Bare with me as I conquer shadows by @dometcetera

IN THE EAST -A POEM BY DOM ETC.@dometcetera I had to leave my heart in East New York the other day..Probably doing all those things that drown out the fact that I ever came it’s way.Like I’m just water under that Brooklyn Bridge or I mean, whatever it is that they sayI had to leave my heart in East New York yesterday…Yea l’ll miss it and for every day I live I’ll never forget it and won’t dare regret itEven if it does go about its ways now Like I never even existed.Doing whatever it canjust to numb me out of its existenceAs if everything I am, it didn’t wish for itI really don’t get it. Said I made it proud What a reward - to cut a cord and start by kicking me outSo I had to leave my heart by forced…cause nah it wasn’t by my choice I dropped it off in ENY and tried hard not to cry cause the sewers were not built to compete such a river. My 2021 Cover of #songcry by Jay ZVerses by me and piano accompaniment as well. I like Dom Etcetera because I refuse to be boxed in. It’s time for us all to do the thing we want to do first when we were children before the world got a hold of us.3 verses and it’s a double entendre. It’s actually my subconscious understanding of the circular/ spiral nature of life. As above so below as within so with out….🌀Do you follow that in the verses?
