POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

So with us finally getting the debut @mechanized_metal album underway last week and starting the first song, and with most of the rhythm parts for the other songs written(just a few tweaks here and there), I still have a couple of solos to write and a couple of written ones left to tweak! Next up for guitar tracking is our song "The Hammer", it's the most chonky and simple in terms of riffs, but could have one of my most ambitious solos yet!
.
It's still a Work-in-progress, so there are some hiccups in this demo, but let us know in the comments what you think of the progress so far!🤘
.
Oh, and if you're interested in any merch, we have a linktree in the bio of the band page 😉

Some of you may(or may not) have noticed I've been a little less active on here over the past couple of weeks, and here's why:

As most of you do know my band Mechanized qualified to be in the final heat for the Metal 2 The Masses competition to play Bloodstock Festival a while back, well now I can extremely proudly say WE WON THE FINALS!!!

We've already posted on our band's FB page, but if you follow our Insta page too(if you haven't already) @mechanized_metal you'll find the same post on there, and we'd appreciate it immensely!

This has been one hell of a ride thus far, and it's only going to get better, especially with us supporting Gama Bomb this Friday at @thejunctionplymouth !

Hope to see some of you at BOA next month! Onwards and fuckin'upwards!

Just a little practice of the next solo I'll be recording later for the album. This is with not much sleep, and no warm up, but the hands are feeling pretty good, abeit a little slow😅
.
Video is of course in the NORMAL format, because I clearly like going against the grain. y'know? Remember when videos were filmed in widescreen so that you could see more of what was actually relevant in the video?
.
Anyway, until the next time I remember I can upload videos to this platform.

Just a little practice of my solo to "Core Reactor Overload" on the piii before I clamp down the 'ol blue S540 for recording it and the rest of the album's leads. It's mostly the same as the last version I posted, apart from the new ending, which I'll probably record a couple of different versions of because I'm indecisive like that 😅

What an honor it was to play at this festival once more, thank you to Simon and Phil who managed VIP for putting us on. Next aim is the Sophie Lancaster Stage once we finish the album 😎

MECHANIZED - THE HAMMER live at Bloodstock Open Air 2026, at the Serpent's Lair VIP stage. Thank you to everyone who decided to hang with us rather than Death Angel! It really means so much that you could join us.

If we do return to this stage we will be setting up the bean bag mosh pit, or Wall of Bean. Mark our words.

This is also a freshly released single, please follow our socials if you like and add the song to your playlists!

I'm home, showered, well fed and pretty tired after another thrilling weekend @bloodstockopenair with the @mechanized_metal dudes! It's still crazy thinking that we've played my fav festival once already, but adding a second one to the list is just surreal! Thanks to everyone @bloodstockvip for having us, and to anyone who came to see us🤘.
The only main difference and downer for me at the festival this year was it being the first year where I DIDN'T randomly bump into pretty much everyone I know whilst strolling around, and I didn't have enough time to spend with the people I did see, but one BIG plus for me was ticking off seeing/hearing Nevermore songs live off the bucket list. I don't have many bands left on the list to give me that emotional "first time" live experience, but I never thought this would happen without Warrel, nor did I even think it could tbh, but everyone in the new Nevermore absolutely delivered!
That being said, I'm extremely proud of @jackcattoi, it's an honor to know and get to hang with someone as talented as you my friend, you deserve every bit of this! Hopefully they'll be another time🤘

Now it's time to get this wrist band off, fight the depressing festival blues, get the album done, and get pushing for gig no. 3 at BOA 😉

Tonight's practice? Something different for a change. There's a reason for me learning Tornado of Souls, but I'm going to keep people guessing 😛. Firstly, this is VERY rough, as I've only just begun, but I've been learning and practicing this solo for a couple of hours straight tonight and it's the first time I've played a guitar in standard E tuning with heavier gauge strings than what I'm used to for quite some time, not to mention I'm trying to nail Marty Friedman's bends and vibrato with 0 finger callus 😂 so please take into consideration that my fingertips were absolutely on fire during the recording of this video.... but daamn it felt GOOD!

I don't care what the theory buffs say, learning other people's music and style of playing is what got me interested in playing guitar, but more importantly it's what gave me the motivation to keep learning the intrument and get me to where I am today! I'm just now remembering this and it makes me happy, I feel 21 again.

So, the Bristol Guitar Show yesterday was fun(even if I was only there for 1.5 hours), but I just thought I'd take the time to talk a little about the guitars of today.

After hearing so many stories from people about well known established brands(not going to name names) failing to deliver on quality when it comes to factory-made import models, seeing their prices increase too makes me quite sad if I'm honest. Custom shop guitars made by these brands will no doubt be high quality, but not without an extremely heft price tag that not many can afford. I too have had recent disappointment from a factory made guitar made in one of the world's most highly rated factorys(fujigen), and have also read other reports of similar issues from them as of late.

Now I know lesser-known custom luthiers also have a decent price tag attached to their guitars, however, when it comes to quality AND customisation, you are going to get a completely personalised 1-1 experience so you can rest assured you will have the quality control there. So imo if prices keep creeping up for import guitars then in time I think the market will be shifting(more than it probably has done already), and it's something I actually would like to see, as guys like Alex from @abhorrent_guitars and many other builders out there deserve people's attention.

My advice to people looking to buy a new import guitar, is to try before you buy(IF you can), buying online is taking a big risk lately.
