(Late post) - At the water's edge at Coyote Lake, taking it easy.  So beautiful here!  My cuzz was behind the camera.  This was during our nice hiking outing around Coyote Lake Harvey Bear Ranch County Park.  The weather was quite nice out as well.  It's nice to escape the hustle and bustle of life once in a while... Our hiking outing took place on Monday, May 3, 2021.  'Til next time, stay safe out there everyone!
*A bit about this park:  This 6,695 acre regional recreation area, nestled in the hills east of Gilroy, CA, features a 449 acre lake for fishing and boating.  Coyote Lake has a “world-class” population of black bass, as well as bluegill, black crappie, and Eurasian carp.   Coyote Bear provides habitats for many species of birds, reptiles, amphibians, insects and mammals. The park is home to rare western pond turtle, California tiger salamander and Bay checkerspot butterfly.  219 species of birds have been seen, including our “National Bird” the bald eagle.  Even mountain lions have been seen by visitors in the park’s hinterlands... Hikers, horseback riders and off-road bicyclists can explore over 33 miles of trails that wind through cool oak forests and along breezy ridgelines with wonderful views.  At the Bear Ranch Trailhead in San Martin, there is a 2-mile paved loop that is popular with joggers, dog-walkers, and people just wanting to get outside to exercise and get some fresh air.  Coyote Lake Harvey Bear Ranch County Park is certainly a great place to visit close to home! taken in Coyote Lake by @dominatorwill54

Enjoying a beautiful sunset from Pacific Grove, CA. I never get tired of visiting this place.  I was with my parents at this time.  This was during me and my family's brief Easter Sunday outing...

*Our outing in summary:  We went to eat our early dinner at the new location of Phil's Fish Market & Eatery now located in Castroville, CA.  It was a nice location, at least the parking was a tad larger.  The bad thing was that it was no longer by the sea.  After feasting good with our usual favorites, we went our separate ways.  Me and my parents continued on to enjoy the ocean views all the way in Pacific Grove, CA while my sister and her fam went home right after dinner.  For me and my parents, we just chilled and took in the beautiful scenic views by the sea while watching the sun slowly set over the vast, clear Pacific.  It’s usually cloudy along the coast so we took advantage of the clear conditions.  Seeing sunsets by the sea are always my favorite!  We quickly went home as soon as the sun disappeared beyond the horizon.  It was a brief but great Easter Sunday outing we had!  ‘Til next time, safe travels!  (Outing taken place Sunday, April 9, 2023)

***“There was a magic about the sea. People were drawn to it. People wanted to love by it, swim in it, play in it, look at it. It was a living thing that was as unpredictable as a great stage actor: it could be calm and welcoming, opening its arms to embrace it’s audience one moment, but then could explode with its stormy tempers, flinging people around, wanting them out, attacking coastlines, breaking down islands.” – Cecelia Ahern.*** taken in Pacific Grove, California by @dominatorwill54

One last selfie at New Brighton State Beach. Just so beautiful here indeed! This was during me and my family’s 4th of July weekend outing at Seacliff State Beach in Aptos, CA. A few of us came very early to reserve a table and it was worth it since it quickly got crowded as the morning progressed. The morning hours featured cold and foggy conditions but the sun finally started to break thru the clouds around midday. The uncles and aunties prepared the food while us cousins did our own thing. Me, Gretchen and Steven in particular decided to walk down the beach (heading northward towards Capitola) eventually reaching New Brighton State Beach. We then worked our way back to Seacliff walking the long way back, even hitchhiking a bit along McGregor Dr lol. After going thru residential areas, we finally made it back to the beach (Seacliff side). At least we got a good cardio workout lol. Once back, we then enjoyed more food, and took in last minute views back at the beach and on the pier. We ended the day with a family group pic right by our camp. It was a fun weekend outing by the sea with the fam! It’s always nice to get away from the busy city life once in a while… ‘Til next time, safe travels! Wow, talk about treating ourselves after a hike, haha! This was at the Black Bear Diner along the El Camino Real around Sunnyvale, CA. I was with my cuzz at the time. We just came back after hiking a bit at The El Corte de Madera Creek Open Space Preserve. Certainly, hiking works up an appetite! For me, I ordered the western BBQ burger, yumm! Let’s eat! *In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Their mission was simple: create a fun and friendly atmosphere where the local community could enjoy huge portions of home-style cooking at a reasonable price. Today, we continue their mission at every Black Bear Diner across the country, as we passionately provide guests an outstanding experience. Our menu offers comfort food classics, and our entire menu is offered all day long. Whether you are craving pancakes at 8 pm or pot roast at 8 am - we’ve got something for everyone. Enjoy your meal in our family-friendly, cabin-themed diner with our welcoming staff or order to enjoy in the comfort of your home. taken in Black Bear Diner by @dominatorwill54

Taking a nice joy ride thru the woods. I was with my cuzz at the time. It’s been a while since we’ve done a hiking trip. This time, we went to The El Corte de Madera Creek Open Space Preserve around San Mateo County. The preserve is characterized by dense second-growth redwood and mixed evergreen forests. Certainly a nice place to escape the busy, fast-paced life nearby! We were headed back at this time…
*A bit about this preserve: More than 34 miles of multiuse trail are available for exploration at the 2,908-acre El Corte de Madera Creek Open Space Preserve. While this preserve is extremely popular with bicyclists, it also has lots of hearty hiking and horseback riding opportunities. Visitors will find creekside trails through mixed evergreen and redwood forests, enjoy ocean views, admire rare sandstone formations and experience a sense of remoteness. Visitors to this preserve can see unique sandstone formations called tafoni. Cave-like indentations and delicate honeycomb structures are formed in the sandstone by just the right combination of weather and atmospheric conditions. Numerous logging roads are also still evident, most of which are now trails. With a little help, nature has incredible healing powers: the deep canyons have regenerated dense stands of second-growth redwoods. While most of the giant old-growth redwoods were logged, a few awe-inspiring giants remain to be seen (like the Methuselah Tree). With 36 miles of trails, there’s plenty to explore!

About to enjoy my delicious early dinner from The Melt, courtesy of Jelanie! She stopped by earlier in the day to give me her laptop so I can take care of the media slides for the next in-person Sunday service. Wow, this looks super delicious indeed! Thanks, Jelanie! Just a quick glance at my souvenir corner at home in the living room. I got myself a magnet board to put some of our souvenir magnets that won’t fit on the fridge. Looks like there’s still a little more space for a few more destinations. And yes, I am a Stitch fan as you can see lol. Still feeling the sting at the pump… Even at Costco, gas was still expensive. I was commuting home with my mom at the time. We like going to Costco to get our gas since it’s the closest to cheap we can get around town. Well, we gotta do what we gotta do. We can’t get anywhere without gas, right? A frog was spotted hanging out in my backyard garden while I was watering the plants. Having frogs in your yard is generally very good. They act as natural pest control—eating mosquitoes, slugs, and beetles—and serve as bioindicators of a healthy, chemical-free ecosystem. However, they can sometimes become a minor nuisance if their noise keeps you awake or if their presence attracts predators like snakes. Sweet tooth cravings during my lunch break at work. My mom actually got this from the Cinnabon place inside of Eastridge Mall in San Jose, CA the day prior while she did some shopping at Macy’s lol. I always love eating this since childhood. Just the taste brings me back… (Thursday, ‎June ‎18, ‎2026) taken in Pleasanton, California by @dominatorwill54
