I am so happy that I have been profiled by ELLE Japan, interviewed by @shioriclark . 🌸🩷 Full feature in bio. Thank you @shioriclark for the wonderful illustration of me and thoughtfully writing this profile which reflects my advocacy well. In this interview we chat about challenges I face as a young black woman who is a climate justice advocate, joy, identity, fashion shows with @stellamccartney , @overheated with @billieeilish & @maggiembaird , Climate Live (@climateliveglobal ) including our Japan branch. A great interview, you can check out the full feature at the link in my bio! 💕 What do I do? I am a Climate Communicator, and focus on the intersectionality of climate action and social justice. I am also a sustainable and fair fashion advocate ♻️ I love to empower young people, whether that is speaking to schools or bridging the movement. I also am a wildlife lover and advocate! 🌊🐘🦅🦎 I am on a founding member of and on the Steering Committee for the Youth Climate Justice Fund, the first global youth-to-youth fund redistributing resources to climate justice groups. And I am part of Climate Live, a youth led organisation harnessing the power of music to unite people. And now I have started my journey in a music career! Keep your eyes posted 👀 My advocacy is a love letter to the earth and my communities, to all that we can save which is so beautiful. Every fraction of a degree, every win, every rewarded space, every bit of restored nature, I hold so dearly. 🌱 Thanks to God and all of you who have supported me in still here fighting 🩷 📸: 1- Taken in Japan ☺️ 3 - @mattjarvismedia , 6 - @oscarxblair by @domipalmer
As an advocate for our precious ecosystems, this video is symbolic. Animals travel thousands of miles each year , it is survival . Instinctive. To find food, after an ecosystem is disrupted, forced out of their habitat, to find shelter, peace, to bring up their young, and more. 🌿 “Monarch butterflies don’t migrate across the continent because it’s fun. Species migrate because the conditions are no longer conducive to making home in place, and they will migrate to a place where the conditions are more conducive.” Gopal Dayaneni But when humans do this (from the global majority) they are met with, borders and cruelty. Why? My heart has been heavy to see what is taking place with people being kidnapped off the streets including children 💔, to increased climate refugees around the world facing hostility for a crisis they did not create, and an increasing hostile environment against people seeking asylum in the UK. Going against international law. It doesn’t have to be this way ❤️‍🩹 It is asking us to look at how migration is a natural part of life, and instinctive to survival. This video is shining a light to how people including literal children are becoming refugees from problems they did not create, many make unimaginable journeys to find safety, are being detained, and face cruelty. Where are peoples humanity who defend this? Who harbour such hatred to people who want to have a better life? Where is the empathy? We must have a decolonial lens. I CAN’T WAIT for this book to be out into the world! I signed with Harper Collins Children’s to write: Planet Protectors. This was inspired by the incredible power of young people to create change and, by the possibilities for the future. I wanted to include real world examples from some activists I have met on my journey. 🩷 📘This is part of the ‘Read On’ programme for schools! 📚 Now available online for pre-orders on major booksellers including Harper Collins UK and bookshop.org. Link in bio 🔗 📆: Published 17th April! I hope that the children learn that they are not alone in feeling fear and anxiety about climate our climate and biodiversity crisis, and that there is an entire movement taking acting through: courts, the streets, pressuring leaders, organising in their local communities, and more. 🌍 Just like trees survive with their underground fungal networks, sharing information, resources and the nutrients, we are also stronger together. The first chapter is titled ‘The oceans are rising, but so are we.’ 🌊 📖This book is to educate about climate and biodiversity, alongside the inequality of it, and how youth are seeking justice worldwide. Thank you to these planet protectors who feature in the book: @melatiwijsen & @isabel.wijsen , @beau.bkabtsa @lola.malini @anjali.rm @ny3leti from @chokedup_uk , @nallelicobo , @vanessanakate1 , @helenagualinga and @nallelicobo Thank you to @pahwakomal for the gorgeous illustration! 🌷🌸🌿💕🩷💚 🎥Filmed by: @benjaminharrisdop Edited: me #bookstagram #nature #climate #BigCatReadOn #nonfiction by @domipalmer
It’s World Vegan Day! Here are the reasons I’m vegan. Fun fact, I’ve always felt a connection with all animals, and tried to go veggie when I was 12! 🌱💚💖 #worldveganday 🔗Some sources: Climate Rights International, Before It’s Too Late. I never want to lose these beautiful habitats ♥️ Al data centres are expanding across the UK with too little scrutiny of their impact on power, water, land, and local communities. The Government has promoted data centres as critical infrastructure and a driver of Al growth, but communities need proof that this expansion will not undermine climate targets or basic public needs. 🔗Head to link in bio, where you can take actions through emails, join in person action days and more. 💦Global Action Plan estimates that more than one hundred data centres are planned or being built, with many proposed in areas facing future water scarcity. It also warns that data centre projects requesting grid connections could place new strain on the energy system at the same time the UK is trying to deliver clean power. 📍This campaign is fighting for a pause on new Al data centre construction until the Government has a clear, binding framework. That framework must set limits, protect communities, require transparent energy and water reporting, and make sure Big Tech expansion does not come before climate, water security, and democratic oversight. by @domipalmer
ad I visited the little hamlet of Nobottle, Northamptonshire to try out a drink with no…bottle? @innocent who has teamed up with @Notpla to explore whether seaweed could change how they package drinks in the future. This is just a pilot for now, but there are so many cool possibilities as an alternative to conventional packaging! We need to see more creativity to tackle plastic pollution. by @domipalmer

Hit copy link and comment to push this out ‼️I will be boycotting all major supermarkets this budget day, October 28th, along with thousands of people across the country. Instead shop local! In a first step in pressuring the government into bringing in price caps on essential food items Similar boycotts started in Croatia last year and spread to 11 countries in south east europe. They built mass participation and pressured the Croatian government into bringing price caps on 100 essential goods!!! 📣Join the boycott, pledge your commitment in @werenotbuyingit.uk bio to build the movement and be kept in the loop about next steps. If they don’t cap it then we’re not buying it. by @domipalmer
I prefer the sound of running rivers over new oil and gas! Imagine putting nature and communities at risk when we do NOT need new fossil fuel projects? ! Here are several actions you can take below- whatever you can do helps us make more noise together. 1) tag your MP and @andy.burnham 2) Repost and share this 3) Write a letter to your MP. I also have resources in my bio via the Chilli app where everything is in one place, otherwise check @stopcambo ‘s linktree! 4) Sign the open letter to Miatta Fahnbulleh, the newly appointed UK Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero 5) Email: OPRED@energysecurity.gov.uk Subject: Rosebank Field Development - Representation - ref ES/2022/001 Tell them: • You oppose Rosebank • The climate impacts on future generations must be considered. • We need renewable energy, not new oil and gas. 6) Keep posted on @stopcambo and @fossilfreelondon for in person demos ✊🏾 #stoprosebank #heatwaves #climate #nature by @domipalmer
