Crazy the difference just a few tweaks makes… same mic set up, same playing dynamics, same processing on the mix end. Switched out to a quieter set of hats as my usual heavier pair (not even that heavy!) were just a bit too harsh, tuned the snare up into the key of the track, a little bit of dampening to fatten it up a tad, and removed the foam ring off the emad kick batter. Different drum sound! It’s a keeper

It’s been a minute since I got to sit down and play (dad life!)
Working on a big and dirty drum sound for the @the_years_shall_run tune that’s in progress at the moment - a challenge in a small room! Help from @purafiedaudio room simulation on my room mics 🙏
Not sure I’ll stick with the uber ringy snare but we’ll see!

The mighty Steve Jordan! Basically just a swung paradiddle between the kick and snare. One of my favourite grooves

@doms_drums adding the bowed guitar part when recording STARBANK + HOME. Was reminded of this as I’m about to see @sigurros tonight!

Enjoyed switching up the feel on this jam. Chasing that lo-fi sound! First time trying out a Fibreskyn on the @ccdrumco snare #drums #groove #recording taken in Edinburgh, United Kingdom by @doms_drums
