Almost 10 years with my first congas in NZ. Hundreds of hours, lots of gigs, and they wore every story on their skin. They carried my rhythm for many years. It was my turn to carry them. Later on Maestro @mfuentesdrum told me those drums are gold, don’t let them go.

People told me it was time to swap them. I wasn’t ready to let them go although that camouflage wasn’t my style. So I stripped them back, painted them, failed 😅, and then carved every scale, one by one.

Their comeback? The salsa ball at Auckland Town Hall with the orchestra 🔥
Same soul, new life.
Thanks to my good friend Fide Pimentel from @acusticalatina for the hands, the laughs and the time on this project🙏 .
