To every runner who showed up for us this season, GRACIAS DE TODO CORAZÓN. 🥹💙🧡 You may think you just came out to run a few miles, but you gave us so much more. You gave us laughter, friendships, memories, and a little family we never knew we needed. 🥹

From those early dark mornings to the finish line, every single one of you made this season special. We may be a small crew, but the love we have for each other is HUGE.

Yesterday, you showed up with so much love, energy, and heart, not just for our crew, but for EVERY runner who passed by! 🥹👏🏽 You may never fully understand what your cheers, smiles, hugs, and encouragement meant to someone struggling to take that next step. You weren’t just cheering runners on. You were giving tired hearts a reason to keep going. ❤️‍🩹

Our little crew may not have any sponsors, but goodness, are we RICH in love and community! 🥹 Gracias, gracias, GRACIAS! You are the heart of Doñas y Dons, and yesterday you reminded us that the most beautiful part of a marathon isn’t the finish line. It’s the people who help us get there. My 2nd WORST marathon ever! 🫣😂 (That one time I broke the side of my foot at mile 16-17 & still finished, that still takes the cake! 🏆🤣) But somehow, this was also my FAVORITE marathon! 🥹❤️

So many emotions that I’m still trying to process. Yesterday was brutal, physically and emotionally, but I have NEVER felt so loved during a marathon. 🥹

To all the amazing run clubs who cheered me on as I slowly trotted along the course, THANK YOU! 🫶🏽 Every cheer, hug, smile, and familiar face carried me a little further when I had nothing left to give. Words will never be enough to express how grateful I am for everyone who helped me make it to that finish line. 🥹This Doña still has it!

My Quinceañera Marathon wasn’t pretty, but Dios mío, was it filled with LOVE! 👑😭❤️ 15 Chicago Marathons later, and this one will forever hold a special place in my heart. 🧡💙

Don Freddy and I will never find the right words to express how much this little running family means to us.

When we started Doñas y Dons, all we wanted was to create a space where people could show up, run a few miles, laugh, and feel like they belonged. Nothing fancy. Just good people, good intentions, and a whole lot of corazón.

Somewhere between those ridiculously early mornings, long miles, laughter, struggles, and countless “¡Échale ganas!”, something beautiful happened. We became familia. 🥹❤️

Last night, looking around our home and seeing everyone eating, laughing, and enjoying each other’s company, I couldn’t help but get emotional. Because THIS is what it’s all about. Not the pace. Not the medals. Not the size of our club.

It’s about the people who show up for one another. The ones who wait for the last runner, celebrate the smallest victories, and remind you that you matter. Don Freddy and I may open the doors to our home, but YOU are the ones who fill it with love. ❤️

We may not have big sponsors, fancy things, or endless resources, but whatever we have, we will always share with our running familia. Because that’s how we were raised. Donde comen dos, comen tres. Y donde comen tres, ¡comen todos! 🥹

To every Doña and Don who ran with us, volunteered, cheered, encouraged someone, or simply showed up this season, THANK YOU. You have given us more than you will ever know. Friendship, beautiful memories, a sense of belonging, and a reason to keep showing up even on the days when life gets hard.

And please, never forget…Nuestra casa es su casa. Aquí siempre habrá un plato de comida, una silla en la mesa, un abrazo cuando lo necesiten y dos personas que los quieren muchísimo. Thank you for loving our little crew and for allowing us to love you right back. Esta es su casa. This Sunday, we’ll be dancing our Quinceañera Waltz through all 26.2 miles of Chicago! 👑💃🏻👟💕

15 Chicago Marathons, a whole lot of memories, and two Quinceañeras ready for their grand entrance! 🥹👑 No glass slippers, just running shoes. No ballroom, just the streets of Chicago. And instead of a 15-couple court, we’ll have thousands of runners celebrating with us! 💃🏻🧡

This Sunday, my amiga Paulina and I will be celebrating our QUINCEAÑERA CHICAGO MARATHON! 👑💃🏻🎉 Yes, you read that right. FIFTEEN Chicago Marathons EACH!

Quince años de levantarnos a horas que ni Diosito está despierto. Quince años de ampollas, uñas negras, piernas adoloridas, y preguntándonos… ¿POR QUÉ CHINGADOS SEGUIMOS HACIENDO ESTO? 🤣

At this point, we don’t need another medal. We need knee replacements, a good chiropractor, and maybe someone to evaluate our mental stability. 😂 But all jokes aside… 🥹❤️ Fifteen Chicago Marathons.

I don’t think either of us truly understands how much those words mean until we stop and think about everything life has thrown at us over the years.

We’ve gotten older. Life has changed. Our bodies have changed. We’ve experienced happiness, heartbreak, loss, struggles, and moments when simply getting out of bed felt harder than running 26.2 miles. And yet, somehow, we kept showing up.

Maybe not as fast as we once were. Maybe with a few more aches, a little more weight, and definitely a lot more complaining. 😂 But we kept showing up. And that’s what makes this milestone so special. Because these 15 marathons aren’t just about running.

They’re about the women we’ve become along the way. The battles nobody saw us fighting. The tears we’ve cried. The strength we didn’t know we had. And the beautiful privilege of growing older while still being able to do something we love.
