While I've had over 100 exhibitions, this is only my 2nd solo show. Thanks all who came out to my Solo Art Exhibition "Freedom Within" A time was had. Doing yoga before giving an art talk is highly recommended. Loosened me up figuratively and literally. I made 2 new additions to the freedoms series I'll share soon. Here's a piece I designed a few months ago during my social media hiatus for a typography competition. This was inspired by a quote I heard during a talk by a friend and Nepalese Yoga Scholar Dr Chintamani Yogi . "Are you moving with Pressure or Interest? Love or Fear?" Here's the simple experimental short film I won 2nd place for in the @ncclimatejustice 4R's film fest' Picture this catrgory. This piece started as a quick 2 hour photography found object photography project during my Asheville residency. I animated these designs and still photographs combining them with some other found footage from the residency. A challenge here was that AI wasn't allowed. AI has been in photoshoots tools for a long time. So had to clone stamp by hand to remove the foreground objects like it was 2008! This is an animated version of my Nisibidi Nature Mandala 1. Check out my previous post for the symbol meanings...Being a minimalist in most areas of my life I'm realizing I have no interest in animate complexity. Outside influence and my career demands this to some degree, but making this was purely pleasurable. Had to draw our Speed Queen @speedyj. Actually, tried to draw her multiple times 4 years ago when she became the first black woman to win a winter Olympic Gold medal in an individual event...but all my drawings were trash. I came to realize skating is pretty difficult to draw while painting my style with foreshortening...I don't think I'm a better artist now than I was then, but I just tried to enjoy myself, accept the imperfections and get this piece across the finish line.💨.Used many refence photos but main one by @ryanshima808...#erinjackson #winterolympics #speedskating #skating #teamusa by @donavonmadethat

Early this morning on my 1.5hr commute into work I saw the annual Reserved seat @metroforward does for Rosa Parks Birthday(slide 2). I knew I wanted to revisit my older piece. Recolored assets from my 2021 animation (slide 3). As I spend a lot of time on the train meditating now this piece and her legacy hit a little harder than before.
