I am extremely blessed and honored to announce my commitment to play Division 1 baseball at The New Jersey Institute of Technology to continue my athletic and academic career.

First and foremost, I would like to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for letting everything happen for a reason and being there for me at my lowest and highest points in my career.

Thank you to my Mom, Dad, brother, and the rest of my family for being with me every step of the way and believing in me throughout this entire process and never doubting my abilities or potential both on the field and in the classroom. All of the opportunities and resources you provided for me and the sacrifices you have made are the reason I am who I have become today.

Thank you to Coach Jim and Joe Wladyka for teaching me the game of baseball that it is supposed to be played and for making me the type of player that I am. Also, Thank you to Coach Butch Bellenger and the rest of the @wladykabaseball coaching staff that has coached me along the way for supporting me ever since the age of 12 when I first started playing for Wladyka Baseball.

Thank you to Coach Rooney, Coach Dwyer, Coach Gelalia, and the rest of the @donboscoprepbaseball coaching staff for going above and beyond in preparing me for the next level and teaching me how to be a man and a leader on and off the field.

Thank you to Danny and everyone @myokinetix for helping me stay healthy throughout the year so I can perform my best out on the field.

Thank you to all my teammates and friends that have supported me along the way and have been there for me throughout my entire recruitment.

Thank you to every coach that has been a part of my journey in some shape or form from WCL coach pitch through present.

Last but not least, I am incredibly thankful to Coach McClellan, Coach Mayo, Coach Putsky, and Coach Greely for believing in me and providing me the opportunity to be great in a Highlanders uniform at the highest level of college baseball. @njtechbaseball

“Success is where preparation and opportunity meet”
Today was another reminder that the Don Bosco Prep Baseball program is about so much more than the game. ⚾️

A huge thank you to Coach Mike Rooney and his staff for continually creating opportunities that allow our players to learn from some of the best in baseball.

Having Caden Dana, Michael King, and James Karinchak spend time with our student-athletes is an experience they’ll remember long after today’s event. Hearing their stories, asking questions, and seeing firsthand what it takes to compete at the highest level is exactly the kind of exposure that shapes young men.

It’s experiences like these that speak to the strength of our program and the relationships being built beyond the field.

Thank you to everyone who made today possible #boscoalumni #mlb #baseball #njsiaa #empoweringtheyouth taken in Don Bosco Prep (Official School Page) by @donboscoprepbaseball

I am beyond excited and honored to announce my commitment to continue my academic and baseball career at D1 Iona University.

First and foremost, I want to thank my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for guiding me through every high and every low. None of this would be possible without Him.

I want to thank my mom, dad, and brother for everything they have sacrificed to help me chase this dream. Thank you for the countless hours, long drives to practices, games, lessons, and for investing in my training. All of this and more has helped me become the player and person I am today. I wouldn’t be where I am without your unconditional love, support, and belief in me.

I also want to thank the @teambeastbaseball, especially @coachmolinaro and @tmolinaro27, for believing in me and helping me reach this milestone. Furthermore, thank you to @donboscoprepbaseball for being a part of this amazing journey and also every coach who has invested their time, knowledge, and energy into my development throughout this journey.

To Coach Burke, Coach Scimanico, and the entire Iona Baseball coaching staff, thank for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to continue my academic and athletic career as a Gael.

This commitment is just the beginning. A new chapter starts now, and I’m excited to see where God leads me next.

Time to get to work.

Congratulations Eric Becker!
A member of the Don Bosco Prep Class of 2023, Eric was a cornerstone of one of the nation’s premier high school baseball programs. His ability to impact the game on both sides of the ball, combined with his commitment to constant improvement, earned him recognition as one of the top players in the country. More importantly, he earned the respect of his teammates, coaches, and everyone who watched him compete.

Yesterday, that dedication has been rewarded as Eric has been selected by the Cincinnati Reds with the 58th overall pick in the 2026 MLB Draft.

Eric’s journey is a testament to what can be accomplished through discipline, perseverance, and a team-first mindset. We couldn’t be more proud to have watched him grow from an Ironman into a professional baseball player.

Congratulations, Eric! The Don Bosco Prep family will be cheering you on every step of the way.

Once an Ironman. Always an Ironman. by @donboscoprepbaseball
