What a day! What a ride! And vibes were high in this year’s Rapha Women’s 100.

It wasn’t an easy ride, that’s for sure, but as soon as 33 degrees and direct sun hit, it became three times harder. Hats off to everyone who completed the ride.

Massive credit to the team behind the scenes, too. The logistics, planning and support were impeccable from start to finish.

Missed the 2026 Sydney Marathon? No problem, I got you covered.

I’ll be brief: it was the DAY to go out and take photos. I wasn’t officially taking photos for the event - I did it for the love of the craft and to stay creative.

Congrats to all participants. I’ve tried running and that thing is tough.

Last night I joined Fujifilm House of Photography for their Shoot & Print session, where we explored what goes into creating a successful print. It was a super insightful session and a great reminder that the final photograph isn’t always the one on your screen (unless you got a @benqau monitor, of course.

A big thanks to @athena.qc ! She did amazing and made it look so easy for her first time in a shoot (I think she lied).

Some of my favourite shots from the TT race bike organised by @buncheur and @camdencycleclub at @sydneymotorsportpark

Location was surreal and combined with the great lighting, getting nice shots was a bit easier.

As this was my first time shooting there, I approached some of the participants and asked them for suggestions in terms of what they thought the best place would be. Most of them recommended this sharp turn where you can see some photos of, and yep, that was on point 👌🏻

As much as I struggle saying no sometimes, I also think my yes attitude has brought me to live the best experiences I’ve had.

The Lauren @tourdelauren and pro Kate @katiel.cc invited to a TT Bike Race. By the time I got the invite I had eaten 3/4 of a medium cake as dessert, so it was a straight no to racing. But instead of saying no, I decided to join the support crew and take photos.

Mate, what a vibe! The track was unreal, like MotoGP. Seeing riders cornering at crazy speeds was 👌🏻

Is this a cyclist’s perfect day? 200km ride in the day followed by a pizza party hosted by friends.

🍪 Cookies
… and more carbs

Funny enough, by 9pm everyone was yawning, so we called it a night. 😴

100% would choose this over anything else.

How to take a panning shot 📸

Panning shots are very creative techniques to capture motion. Although I only had cyclists as examples, cars, runners, and motorbikes can work too.

Try to use the settings I provided as a reference:

SS: 1/30
F9 or up
Low ISO

But remember you don’t have to stick with those. It’s a very intuitive exercise when you’re out there shooting, and it’ll take you no time to get the hang of it and understand how capturing motion works.

Most of my favourite and most scenic rides are in New Zealand, but in terms of distance, I think this one delivers the most: water views, pies, and lake crossings (it was flooded he).

Posting so that I manifest another bikepacking trip 🤞🏻

I’ve also been thinking about the potential of tourism when combined with bikes - it’s a completely different experience.

An interesting fact from my salty Kiwi and beloved friend @edrobertson_ : NZ invested on cycling trails in response to the GFC (2008) to promote employment and stimulate tourism. Now, you can see part of its success in these photos 😍

Wholesome weekend with wholesome people. Chopped wood, saw Ron Weasley, had the best birria tacos, went temporarily alcoholic, rode with old friends - and made new.

Still trying to process how lucky I am. Infinitely grateful to the Lauren and mad dog Will for an unreal time.
