💚 WORLD CEREBRAL PALSY DAY 💚

Most of you know our Keenan. He’s 24, has cerebral palsy, and smile that can fill a room.

He’s happy, funny, social, determined, sassy and loving. He loves sports, his family, art, and, of course, pretty girls. 😂

Keenan also has epilepsy, cystic fibrosis, immunodeficiency and feeding tube. He uses a wheelchair. He is nonverbal. But those things tell you only a small part of who he is.

Nonverbal does not mean he doesn’t understand. Keenan has thoughts, feelings, opinions, preferences—and plenty of personality! Talk TO him, not around him. Include him. Give him the opportunity to show you who he is.

Keenan has been underestimated and faced discrimination simply because of his disability. That’s a big part of why Papillon Place exists—to create opportunities for adults like Keenan to work, create, connect, contribute and belong.

See the person before the disability. Different doesn’t mean less. 💚🦋

Dolly Parton sends Erin Louise a book every month as part of her Imagination Library and Erin always goes "thank you Dolly," after we read one of her books. Was very bittersweet at bedtime tonight 🥺❤️ -Sent by my daughter in law🥰💔

What a week of blessings for our family! 💙💕

On July 20, we welcomed sweet Owen Bond Sullivan into the world—his middle name “Bond” honoring his Nana Kathy Bond McAfee, and making it even more special, he was born on her birthday. What a beautiful gift for Nana! 🎂👶

On July 25, our precious Erin Louise turned 2 years old! 🧁🎉

So much joy and hope that comes with Easter✝️. Thankful for a great visit to celebrate Easter morning with Erin Louise and Sarah. We are 1 hour and 8 minutes away on a Sunday morning! James is working The Masters again. Keenan is recovering from a respiratory infection and he had a fantastic day! Had a great dinner with dear friends. Erin and Lainey had some cousin bonding time at Aunt Margie's farm. God is good✝️ by @donna_c_sullivan
