Let’s have a vulnerable moment for a bit. Thanks to my algorithm!

Being a survivor and I say survivor, because he literally tried to kill me- of childhood r8pe.
Being in a very toxic marriage, that we both were responsible for!
Being a recovering drug addict (cocaine, meth, pills), now sober for 7yrs!
Being told my life will never be anything because I’m GAY!

All of these things have changed me, but NOTHING has hurt me more than losing my Grandmother!

I watched her slip away very quickly from Colon Cancer. She told me she had cancer in October of 2004 and by May 2005, it had spread to her brain and she was gone.

May 16th, 2005 I had a Dr appointment so Mom checked me out of school (I was a senior), it was earlier than expected. When we got in the car she was quiet and I knew something was wrong. I just flat out asked her. “Is Grandmother gone?” She didn’t answer me and I knew. I’ve never felt heartbreak like I did that day. My soul left my body and I sobbed!

My world shifted and it still hurts just as bad as it did that day.
My Grandmother was my heartbeat and it stopped that day and it’ll never beat the same again!!

I will NEVER be the same and I’m not sorry that people don’t understand that!! 💔💔💔 by @donthaveatiff87

I had never heard this Tom T. Hall song until the other night when Mandy filled in for Paula on Willie’s Roadhouse. I love it!! I’ve always had my own thing going with Jesus- a personal relationship of sorts. I was taught a lot of things, that I believe are to be false about Jesus. Today has been a shitty day that all started yesterday!
The way I do my job has been in question for several months now and not even by my Boss, but by someone I have known my entire life and have worked with for 20yrs. But it’s all being said behind my back!
Not only is my work being questioned, but my personal life has been attacked as well, by the same person.

Music is my vice, music has saved my life and I don’t mean that lightly either, music is where I go when I just can’t go anymore. Music is everything to me and yesterday while having a conversation with my “second Mama” about songs on my playlist. I was mocked and made fun of for the music I listen to, the artist I adore and the fact that she has saved my life. Because why would I adore someone who anybody hardly knows?? Please keep in mind. The conversation was NOT about her!! But that just goes to show, this person has NO FUCKING CLUE!!

But seriously, why would she not be the exact person I do adore, have a great appreciate for and have immense respect for?! And furthermore, why tf do you care who I go to for comfort and peace?!

It really hurt my feelings, but it pissed me tf off even more! Don’t verbally attack me, mock me and talk shit about someone who has done more to mentally help me than people like her, who I’ve known for 35yrs!!

I don’t care what people say about me, but telling me that music and Mandy Barnett aren’t important to me is next level!! I lost all respect for her!

Tonight Mandy B is filling in for Paula Nelson on her show on Willie’s Roadhouse and she played this song.
Rhinestone Cowboy holds a very special memory for me.
My Grandma loved Glen Campbell and had his cassette tape in her big yellow Pontiac, we called the “Banana Boat”.
I basically spent every waking minute with my Grandma when I was young and anywhere I wanted to go, she would take me. We’d climb into the Banana Boat and take off for hours. She kept that cassette in the deck and would play Rhinestone Cowboy every time. We’d sing to the top of our lungs not having a care in the world at how we sounded!
My Grandma has been gone for 10yrs, I still have that cassette and I’ll have those memories always!! by @donthaveatiff87
