For us, music has always been about more than what’s playing. It’s about what it makes you feel, what it brings back, and who it makes you think of.

Freddie Jackson's music has been part of the atmosphere at Dont Matter since we opened, the kind of records that make you pause, reminisce, and sit with a memory for a little longer.

Today we’re celebrating his life, his artistry, and the music he gave us.

Rest in peace Freddie Jackson and Condolences to his Friends and Family. 🕯️

This weekend marked the 32nd anniversary of The Notorious B.I.G.’s debut album, Ready to Die.

A masterpiece from an era when a remix actually meant something. Artists and producers would revisit a record, rethink it, and give it an entirely new life. Sometimes the remix became just as important as the original.

The “Stay With Me Remix” of “One More Chance” is one of those records.

Built around DeBarge’s “Stay With Me,” with Faith Evans on the background vocals and that unmistakable Bad Boy sound, it became something completely different from the album version.

And it still feels that way today.

It Don’t Matter where you are, when that intro comes on, you feel it.

Rest in Peace To The Great Christopher Wallace
