The iconic Italia Zip Hoodie traces its visual identity back to one of the most recognisable Italian national team warm up jackets of the early 2000s. The original reference was Kappa’s official Italy presentation track jacket, worn by the Azzurri between 1999 and 2002, including the Euro2000 era. Made for training, travel and pre match moments, that jacket gave shape to a visual language that would soon become familiar everywhere: unmistakably Italian, sporty and easy to recognise at a glance. Over time, its influence moved beyond official Kappa pieces. It was reinterpreted through zip hoodies, tracksuits and often unbranded versions sold in souvenir shops, local markets and tourist stores across Italy. The technical details changed, but the identity remained. Today, the piece has found a second life through the Y2K revival. Vintage sportswear, football nostalgia and archive styling have brought this aesthetic back through Pinterest boards, TikTok, secondhand platforms and contemporary streetwear.
