Jokes & Hip-Hop
I don’t know much else
They’ve been my focus this long
I should be pro by now
I mean, I wrote some sick songs
And I can flow quite well
And I can poke a bit of fun
And even roast myself

I am Jokes & Hip-Hop
Mr. Bits & Bars
Mr. Pick the Art
F*** it, Mr. Pick-A-Card
’Cause it’s magic when I tap in
Never know with which to start
But it’s a good problem to have
Like picking women, but it’s hard

I don’t want or have to pick
Maybe I’m polyamorous
I’m committed to both
This hip-hop and stand-up s***
Yeah, I live for them both
And I don’t ever plan to split
That’s why I stay independent
’Cause I don’t ever plan to split
And I don’t ever plan to quit
Even if I step back a bit
I’ll always have a hand in it
Meaning I can never fold
Yeah, I just gotta stack the chips
On my shoulders
High as stoners
Mighty blown from dabbin’ it
All I know is raps and quips by @dontstoptherawk

Rawkumentary Episode 5: Amusement Parks and Abusive Arcs 🎢👋

This week I went to Universal Studios and thought of some jokes while I was there. I tried them onstage the next night at @the_gym_myg, and they got laughs.

I’ve also been retooling one of my reliable openers. The final line hasn’t been so reliable lately, so I’ve been trying out alternate endings.

Then I gave JOKER’S WILD a Halloween season practice run and performed FMX at the request of @wfc_films, our resident sound guy at @sila_worldpeace by @dontstoptherawk

10 years ago today.

Nobody I invited came to this show, so I was put on DJ duty. When it was my turn to perform, another comic offered to take over, but couldn’t get my entrance music to work. Somehow, it still became one of my fondest memories performing in the Original Room.

That’s @sallymullins818 hosting and introducing me. She was the regular host of these shows.

The set went well enough that afterward, then @thecomedystore doorman and @roastbattle comic @dietjay came up to me and told me I really had something and shouldn’t squander it.

Ironically, this ended up being one of my last performances there. I couldn’t consistently bring enough people, and that chapter ended shortly after.

I don’t have footage from these shows, but I did have this audio. Some of these jokes have evolved over the years, and Box of Chocolates is still one of my favorite jokes I’ve ever written.

It was fun using modern technology to finally bring this old recording to life 10 years later. taken in The World Famous Comedy Store by @dontstoptherawk

Rawkumentary Episode 4: Getting My Props

This week was all about getting my props. At @the_gym_myg, I opened the show with “Clown Prince of Rhyme” and got some love for the bars. 🎤🔥🍫

Then I hosted the Comedy Carnival at @hedzortalesbar produced by @accomedy. I was hired to be their clown host, so I let my creativity run wild and showed up in full clown makeup with a bag full of props. 🤡

A megaphone, a yo-yo, a hand clapper, balloon animals, a magic wand, a little pot… yeah, I had a lot of props.

And it worked. The props landed, the callbacks landed, and I got to really flex my hosting muscles in a way I hadn’t before.

And I might’ve earned a few props too. 👏 by @dontstoptherawk
