No one likes a wet book. We’ve been designing an outdoor free library for @bedrockdetroit. Part of that task has been to design waterproof metal boxes with acrylic windows that showcase the reading selection. I think it’s safe to say the books will be dry. by @donutshop.design

So much went into both developing the designs and executing them for the upcoming @root_oftwo exhibit at @mocadetroit. We’re a furniture studio but this one made us put our architecture and engineering hats on.

Detail views of custom millwork for our Pine View Residence, crafted by our friends at Donut Shop (@donutshop.design). The industrial floating kitchen shelves offer practical storage for mugs, kitchen tools, and plants while preserving the namesake view of the surrounding West Bloomfield landscape. Donut Shop also designed a matching powder-coated custom step stool to help our clients to reach the tippy tops of the new floor-to-ceiling book and record shelving. By focusing investment on key moments—such as the fireplace core, the ceiling transformation, and the custom millwork—the project achieves a high level of impact without excess.
