POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Thrilled to share this video of Watermelon, the third song on Sunday Artists soon to be released debut album DOLORES. The film is made by one of my oldest SF Bay Area music collaborators, the venerable Ryan Lescure. Indianna Hale and Jason Cirimele on guitars, Jake Kopulsky on drums, me (Jules) on bass, keys and vox, Indianna singing right along with me, and Chris Daddio recording and mixing it all together like a boss. So thankful for these friends. You can listen to us play Watermelon at our record release party next Saturday, Nov 22 @littlehilllounge and pick one up there or pre-order one on Bandcamp (link in bio). #debutalbum #dreampop #postpunk #psychedelicmusic @indychil @dustcollectormusic @_seaneden_ @donuttimeaudio @kakejopulsky @extremayya by @donuttimeaudio

I must say that I’m pretty darn smitten on our new record. I think you’d be too.
TONIGHT come party with us at The Makeout Room in SF during Thursday #4 of our June residency. These shows have been amazing. Tonight we host Flamingos at 7:30 with Everyone Is Dirty at 8:30.

YO YO YO! This @blncdbrkfst panel I’m on this Sunday at 4pm makes me thirsty! I’ll be “speaking like a professional” at The Hotel Utah. Both Saturday and Sunday our amazing and tireless friend @stefanaronsen is hosting the XXth annual balanced breakfast music summit. 2 days of panels and topics that any music person can learn from and rub elbows with the community (my favorite reason for this!)

It’s gonna be me, Pamela Parker, Christopher McGrew, and Brian Gibbs! TOTAL ALLSTARS! We gonna talk about making records; from songwriting to the final master. At least I think that’s what we’ll talk about?!

These folks are all SUPER TALENTED peers from the SF/Bay Area and I’m honored and humbled to be included.

BTW- I’m drinking Kool-Aid Fruit Punch mix (no sugar added) with fresh lemon juice (from our garden), grapefruit juice (from Florida maybe?), and tap water straight from Hetch Hetchy. And I like it!

First Tattoo at 50. I broke the Daddio virgin skin pact. @nicoledad you’ll have to follow suit now. It only hurt when I laughed…

THANK YOU @deserea_q FOR YOUR BRILLIANT WORK ⚡️❤️❤️❤️⚡️

¡¡GEAR OF THE WEEK!!
Neumann Gefell M70 small diaphragm capsule coupled with an MV692 microphone body. My favorite SDC in the locker. The sound is pure electric hi-fi with astounding articulation to capture every nuance of a drum hit, guitar string, or any source where you want to draw a fine line around the border of what you are recording. Detailed and open, these are my go-to drum overheads as well as acoustic guitar mic. Neumann Gefell mics flew under the radar for a bit and I was lucky enough to snatch a bunch of these puppies up b4 prices went up, up, up. I’ll be posting pics of the other capsules I have including the UM70, M94, and M58. ARF 🐶

What’s your favorite piece of gear at the moment? Pics encouraged.

An EXTREMELY RARE accordion-spotting at the Daddio/Lioncub family Channukmas.
Lady of Spain I Adore You! Nick Daddio was overcome with the Ho Ho Oy Vey of it all…

Definitely a holiday miracle.

I’m in love with my Altec 438C compressor/preamp. Everything sounds bigger, warmer, and better when coming out of this puppy. Simple controls of gain, release time, and threshold. Definitely my love affair of the moment. ARF! 🐶

Our songs, only about 20% fully recorded. The future looks DIRTY,
much work to do…
