2025: I was a high-functioning, manic-depressive cancer warrior.
So 2026 it’s truly an honor to meet you. Considering that when 2025 started, I wasn’t sure I’d see the end of it. After a bleak mammogram in December 2024, I had already handed myself a death sentence. I waited to start treatment after my biopsy-not out of denial, but out of necessity. I had to fix my mind before I could fight for my body. I knew time was critical, but I couldn’t fight a physical war while drowning internally.

2025 wasn’t a fairytale, but it was still full of beautiful feels. While I felt the sting of emotional abandonment and silence I also felt the warmth of profound love and kindness. Both realities shaped my year.

2025 brought grief, but it also brought a level of gratitude I’ve never known before. Oddly enough my gratitude has never been deeper. I’m thankful for every small and grand thing, for every little win, for every moment I once took for granted. Grateful for the life I’ve lived so far, the places I’ve been, the magical and whimsical moments that I was lucky enough to have.

Third time in Thailand, first time in Chiang Mai and it has stolen my heart. The slow, easy rhythm here feels like pure bliss. And with temples as spectacular as Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, how could it not?

ℹ️: It’s about 15 km from downtown Chiang Mai. We hail a grab ride to go there early in the morning and left via songthaew or Rod Daeng, Chiang Mai’s red local ride.

It’s a beautiful place to watch the sunrise or even if the sun decides not to show up the blue hour is still beautiful with an insane view of Chiang Mai.
Opening hours as per google is 6:00 but we were there at 5:40 and they let us in. There is a 30 baht fee for foreigners, locals get to enter for free.

Chongqing exudes an intense and hectic vibe that never slows. I was worried every corner would be crowded, no matter the hour. Locals rise early, so beating the rush isn’t always easy. Yet just after sunrise, Longmenhao was still and empty. Old street, new memories- Longmenhao keeps Chongqing timeless.

Louhan Temple in Chongqing is juxtaposition at its finest. A thousand years of serenity framed by modern skyscrapers, where ancient calm meets city buzz. It’s a popular attraction, and understandably so. Which is why it felt surreal to enjoy thirty uninterrupted minutes here, just us and the temple.

The mesmerizing Dujiangyan Blue
Tears — if tears were this beautiful, I’d gladly shed a few.

Imagine solving floods with a mountain cut instead of a dam. That’s Dujiangyan, China’s 2,200-year-old irrigation system. Li Bing’s masterpiece still feeds millions, proving that sometimes ancient hacks outlast modern fixes. UNESCO calls it heritage; I call it timeless engineering swag.

Chengdu is basically Panda Kingdom. From the real bamboo-munching giants to plushies stacked in shops, mascots on street corners, buses dressed in pandas, and even desserts topped with smiling panda.. this city doesn’t just love pandas, it becomes them.

People’s Park is basically joy bottled up.
Lanterns glowing, Tea houses buzzing, lotus ponds shimmering, and locals dancing, singing, sipping jasmine tea.
A city’s heartbeat, slowed down to the rhythm of leisure.

My fascination with beautiful libraries and bookstores has grown over the years. Dujiangyan Zhongshuge-named one of the world’s most stunning bookstores in 2025—feels like stepping into an optical illusion. Winding staircases, sculpted shelves, soaring archways, and mirrored ceilings stretch the space into infinity, making it seem as though the bookshelves never end.
