"Real eyes on me"
ink on paper 11x11cm

To kickstart myself with drawing again, in preparation for #inktober or whichever October art challenge that I'll find (despite knowing that I could never finish a month lol), here's a quickie doodle! Let's just see how far I can accomplish things this time.

"Out of the Rabbit Hole"
ink on paper 11x11cm

I've been having nightmares these past two weeks. Nightmares for me, are when real people that I know in the waking world appear to be in a not so friendly situation, either with or without me in the picture. But, I'd rather not draw about them so I can easily forget. I think it's also caused by reading too much about those "famous files" that were released just recently. Some were too triggering, especially the videos. But, I'm done digging through that rabbit hole now. I just hope that the guilty people would be truly held accountable and justice be served.

"Moonsnail"
ink and pencil on paper 11x11cm

Another entry for #drawingmydreams series. Starting today, I'll be also using the hashtag #DreamingMoogie

Dreamland is strange. Sometimes, I wake up amazed by my bizarre dreams. A few nights ago, I dreamt of a giant snail biting off parts of the moon. It affected the waves on earth and the world was in a panic. Somehow, I was tasked to look for the "Moon Romancer" who can tame the cosmic Moonsnail. It turns out that these creatures are roaming the galaxies to find their next meal, and they feast on moons like it was cheese! And each galaxy has a designated bloodline of tamers and guardians. So strange, huh?

"Running Out of Happy Pills"
ink and pencil on paper 11x11cm

To continue my #drawingmydreams series, here's a doodle of the split second image I saw just before the moment I woke up. It was during a #hypnopompia or sleep-offset, where the brain transitions between sleep and waking up. Strangely, it was like a reminder to refill my psych meds, which I also refer to as my happy pills. 😜

"Tree Taken by Birds"
ink on paper 11x11cm

I often dream weird stuff. A few days ago, I had a long dream about being lost. And while walking on a street, trying to find my way, I saw a tree being carried by birds. It was just a few seconds and totally not connected with the rest of the dream. But strangely, this is the only scene that I remember vividly until now.

"Immerse"
ink and pencil on paper 11x11cm

I doodle silly stuff. Sometimes, with meaning, or for a challenge. Sometimes I just let my mind go. Not all my doodles will end up here. But, I find it fun when I visit the accounts of artists. It's like being in a virtual museum filled with art. It's so inspiring! And, I love being amazed with all the talent and masterpieces.

"Time Filler"
ink and pencil on paper 11x11cm

Sometimes I doodle to fill my time with unoccupied thoughts, while listening to music in the background, to drown out the noise.

"Directionless"
ink on paper 11x11cm

Going back to our regular black and white doodles. This time, aimlessly letting my pen scribble float in every direction. Anyway, no explanation here. Just silly doodles.

"Golden Lights"
ink on paper 11x11cm

When music inspires art. I love listening to songs that makes my imagination drift and fly. I may have not seen the recent Aurora sightings in the Netherlands, but here's what I see in my mind. 💛🧡

My 2/3 experiment of this color palette. I had no idea what to make at first, but inspired by music, I let my mind create these unusual flowers.

"Summersnow"
ink on paper 11x11cm

Let's try some color now, shall we? I just tested these pens on a quicky simple doodle this morning. Yep, lots of mistakes, but that's the beauty of drawing on paper. You learn from them, and maybe discover how to hide a few too. 😉

I don't know why I ended up with a summer theme though, despite the heavy snow in the Netherlands. Music from this particular album of the Cocteau Twins just makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

"Hyperspace Jump through a Wormhole"
ink on paper 11x11cm

I dreamt I was an alien [Part 2]. Before decending to Earth, our Captain Commander needed to test the calculated trajectory of the fallen artifacts from our ship. So we warped through a wormhole to another galaxy. A planet was about to meet its doom.

This doodle is another scene from the same dream that I previously posted. It was a long and detailed dream. I won't be able to post the whole story, but maybe I can make a few more silly doodles based on it.
