DOOM CHARTS PERORATION – SEPTEMBER 2026 “Though I’m past one hundred thousand miles I’m feeling very still And I think the Doom Charts knows which way to go…” ~ misheard David Bowie lyrics Time flies by ever faster. And the faster the world spins, the shorter the lights will glow. But luckily, we have these amazing albums to bring us into a time and space where everything can last forever. Music is an entirely different kind of art, and the only one that can truly do this. Because those sounds, those notes, those rhythms, and those riffs, leaking away from the Earth, will travel through the universe for all time, beyond our comprehension of the very concept of time itself… Below are 18 albums capable of granting you escape velocity. Climb aboard, leave the world behind, and let the music carry you beyond the boundaries of time… The following are words of adoration from Doom Charts Contributors, devotions to albums they could not stop spinning. Each month, our writers gather to celebrate the finest in doom, sludge, metal, stoner, progressive, psychedelic, and other heavy realms. Their selections are woven into the Doom Charts, published on the first Friday of every month. But some affections run too deep for the regular edition. Some albums fall just outside the chart, or inspire so many write-ups, and only one was chosen. Here, those excesses of love remain… Unfiltered, unbound, and still echoing… A few last words which hopefully will inspire you to listen to those albums… Featuring @7weeksmusic @heavycastle @early_moods @earthaltarmusic Equisetum @exitiumsuiband @lumeband @mamadoomband @maunahband @misterearthbound @moondestroys @mortuary_cave @problemwithdragons @saturnaband @still.water.zombies @subruinam @thewellband @villagersofioanninacity #doomcharts by @doomcharts

With my @doomcharts list submitted, here is the list of what I’m digging from September. What a crazy month, and one of the most difficult months to whittle down to 25 for my Doom Charts list. After 25 those numbers mean nothing, only that I enjoyed those records. I’m sure I missed stuff so let me know, but let’s start here 🤪 by @doomcharts

Link in Bio this month featuring: Early Moods – Ready For The Grave The Well – And Flames Ran Like Living Animals Sleep – Hemispheres Pelegrin – The Curse Of Nephtar Creeper Bud – Creeper Bud Jointhunter – The World Below Is Ours Acidsloth – IV Bees Made Honey In The Vein Tree – In Between Strides Megaton Communion – Three Of Cups Vulture Neck – Vulture Neck Buffer Music: Electric Wizard – Dopethrone – Released September 25, 2000. September was a whirlwind month featuring an abundance of stellar releases. Personally, I traveled many hours by car, attended 4 days of Ripplefest, traveled back and stopped midway to see the old Pops, then returned with a nasty case of the flu and a shit ton of paying job work to do! Enough complaining as it was a great month mostly with a tough time whittling the list down to 10. I missed many of the 9/25 releases, so you will most likely see some on next month’s Top 10. This list differs from my Doom Charts submissions. Electric Wizard’s classic Dopethrone is now 26 years old and that ain’t even half my age. LOL. Please stream and support these artists. Tell your friends, please… I think maybe we’ve gotten away from that (at least we older folks). Check in with that dude who is still listening to Def Leppard. LMAO. It really happened to me and now he has a cool playlist to work with. These couch dwellers can be shown rock is not dead! They just don’t know….. #heavyunderground #stonerdoom #doommetal #stonermetal #heavypsych @early_moods @thewellband @sleeptheband @pelegrinmusic @creeperbud420 @jointhunterband @acidslothband @beesmadehoneyintheveintree @blackdoombarecords - Megaton Communion @vulturenecktrio @doomcharts PS - if you want to complain about the Sleep album…go ahead. I already know it does not sound like Sleep, but I like it. It’s good stoner shit…probably just should’ve called it something else 🤘🤘 by @doomcharts

FRIDAY FREEBIE – @saturnaband SATURNA – LIGHT AND SHADOW Friday morning coming down! If so, you will be up and flying within minutes with this soulful, glowing and radiant Friday Freebie! That’s right, the album came out last week, on September 17th, through @spindarecords, @ripplemusic and @discosmacarras. We’re of course talking about the brand new SATURNA album Light And Shadow! @joopkonraad12 ( @stonedhive ) wrote: “. . . the Barcelona quartet returns with a thirteen songs and forty-six minutes of warm, heavy, soulful rock. They’ve turned the lights down and the amplifiers up! It’s radiant and glowing! The opening track Unheard shoots in with a mighty charge, guitars blazing while the melody keeps the fire under control. Following Falling Apart shoves us back into Saturna territory. The title track follows, a glorious Sabbath-shaped beast, bluesy, heavy and carrying that magic of riffs that sound like they’ve been waiting for fifty years to finally be played.. But Saturna isn’t just about the riffs of yore or the golden age of heavy rock. Absence has those beautiful harmonies you love from Saturna, intertwined with acoustic and electric guitars. While following About You strips everything down to its wooden bones, once again showing off the The Elven colors. But the rhythmic groove does not lay dormant for long, as following So Long makes clear. Seventies rock, proto metal, motoring and an easy rider if ever there was one… Heavy progressive blues without enough psychedelic touches to make it uplifting when needed or burrowing down and heading for the dark when called for. Indeed, all sides have their moment and their time. Light and Shadow feels like they’re filtering sunlight through an old amplifier, warm, dusty, soulful and alive. Saturna honor the past without becoming its prisoners. They take the old flames, add their own oxygen, and let them burn brightly once again. And even the shadows cast, feel glowing and radiant!” (Read more on Stoner HiVe) #doomcharts by @doomcharts

DOOM CHARTS PERORATION – AUGUST 2026 “Looking at the Doom Charts, she cried, “More, more, more” With a rebel yell, she cried, “More, more, more,” wow!” ~ misheard Billy Idol lyrics There’s always more! I don’t know about you; but we’re still listening to all those amazing albums that made the August Doom Charts! And those that came before… But Billy Idol already knew there’s always more more more… So, here’s the Peroration Post for August, opening yet another closet door… Filled with albums that might have made the list or perhaps didn’t for some weird and probably insane reason… Either way, the Contributors could not stop listening to all of these… And they still hunger for more… The following are words of adoration from Doom Charts Contributors, devotions to albums they could not stop spinning. Each month, our writers gather to celebrate the finest in doom, sludge, metal, stoner, progressive, psychedelic, and other heavy realms. Their selections are woven into the Doom Charts, published on the first Friday of every month. But some affections run too deep for the regular edition.
