Sunset Wrecks, "Fade Relics" (2024). Sunset Wrecks is an experimental duo that blends doomgaze, industrial, and post-rock. This album went under my radar somehow when it came out but I'm glad I finally discover it. It is a well worth listen for anyone who enjoys the more melodic side of Godflesh, Author & Punisher’s "Krüller" and of course, Jesu.
"Fade Relics" moves through slow, crushing riffs, dreamlike atmospheric textures, synths and space-rock passages (synthwave-y?). Some tracks are instrumental, while others feature mostly clean singing with occasional harsh, sludgy vocals. Everything flowing naturally throughout the album. A very enjoyable listen for a night drive.

Experimental industrial doom featuring Barney Greenway? Yes, please 🔥
SAL @sal_ent_ is a new project from the UK that has just released its debut EP, featuring the legendary @theofficialnapalmdeath frontman on four tracks of atmospheric industrial experimentation and crust punk attitude. The music feels menacing, confrontational and tense, yet remarkably sparse.
My only complaint is the very short runtime. Hopefully this is just the beginning, because I'll definitely be looking forward to hearing more from this promising project.

THALASM - ☨☨☨ (2026)
Catching up with some releases from early 2026. This EP was released on january 8 and it takes a diferent approach after Thalasm self titled from 2024 where it was a mix of blackened death metal with industrial undertones. Norwegian drummer Vadim Chernyshov @vadimm_c and Patrik Blomberg @autumnsmourningpatrik on vocals constructs this 3-track EP around a self-imposed challenge: no drum machines, no triggers and no real guitars. The result is a bleak mix of industrial, drone, sludge and experimental music where acoustic drums become the main instrument, something you rarely hear in industrial metal. The percussion drives the whole thing while layers of noise and oppressive textures create a cold, dystopian atmosphere, it reminds me of Bong-Ra's new album "Esoterik" now that I just listened to it too and of course fans of Godflesh (especially "Songs of love an hate" and "Us & Them" era) should enjoy this. It's a short but interesting experiment that proves industrial metal music doesn't need programmed drums or even real guitars to sound mechanical and crushing.

BEST OF 2025: 9. @authorandpunisher "Nocturnal Birding". After the more melodic and synth-oriented "Krüller", Tristan returned to his harsher sound on "Nocturnal Birding" drawing inspiration from the brutality of nature life itself. The album feels raw and immersive, blending crushing mechanical sounds with an organic atmosphere and instrumentations (by guest artists Kuntari and the now oficial member guitarrist Doug Sabolick). Great to see A&P still experimenting with new sounds and themes.
Favorite track: "Meadowlark"

BEST OF 2025: 10. @woestband "Vomir à outrance". Sick, twisted, hateful, nihilistic and unbearably intense at times, "Vomir à outrance" feels like a descent into chaos and madness. It delivers a disturbing blend of raw black metal and industrial creating an atmosphere of hostility and decay. It's a challenging listen, but one that will most likely become an industrial black metal classic in the years to come.
Favorite track: "L'Humiliation Dans Le Sang"

BEST OF 2025: 11. @necro.technology "Necrotechnology"
Impressive debut EP from Brazil, it delivers a crushing, raw blend of death-doom, crust, and industrial metal. Despite its short runtime it creates a bleak, oppressive atmosophere with dystopic and social collapse themes. It has the 90's oldschool industrial metal flavour of pioneers like Godflesh, Nailbomb, early Pitchshifter and Soulstorm. Can't wait to see what's next with this guys.
Favorite track: "Hateful Spectacle of Intolerance"

BEST OF 2025: 12. @fangesludge "Purulences". Fange returned to their most brutal with this one: 7 relentless industrial hardcore sludge bangers to make an album. The only way to give this monstrosity a proper listen is blasting it at dangerous levels of volume.
