नीना | When I entered Nina House it felt like 1947. A Sindhi home made after people migrated from Karachi. The bedroom had an extra bed which was a symbol for ‘There is always space for one more’. When Bombay went on to grow to become Mumbai, Nina house stayed the same. The cracked walls and furniture made out of teak wood, the kitchen platform which felt rough to touch and had stains of water. A space that is still a mix of Bombay and Karachi and has the smell of boiling tea. ‘Dudh aur shakkar kam, paani zyada’ a common approach to tea making people took back in those days because of shortage of Milk and Money.
