This moment đŸ”„

Rashid Shaheed delivered one of the most explosive opening plays in recent playoff history during the 2025–26 NFL playoffs. In the NFC Divisional Round against the San Francisco 49ers, Shaheed returned the opening kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown, scoring just seconds into the game and immediately setting the tone for the Seattle Seahawks. The play became the longest postseason kick return in franchise history and one of only a handful ever to open a playoff game with a touchdown, helping spark a dominant 41–6 victory.

That moment wasn’t just a highlight—it symbolized a turning point in Seattle’s season. After acquiring Shaheed midseason, the Seahawks leaned on his speed and special teams impact throughout their playoff run, ultimately advancing to and winning Super Bowl LX. In that championship, Seattle defeated the New England Patriots 29–13, capturing another title and reinforcing the franchise’s identity built on explosive plays, defense, and clutch postseason performances. by @dopejukes

*His visor 👀 đŸ”„

The battles between Calvin Johnson and Patrick Peterson were some of the most anticipated wide receiver–cornerback matchups of the early 2010s. Johnson, nicknamed “Megatron,” brought rare size, strength, and catch radius, while Peterson countered with elite speed, physicality, and technique. When the Detroit Lions faced the Arizona Cardinals, it often turned into a showcase of whether a shutdown corner could truly contain one of the most dominant receivers in league history.

While Peterson had moments of success, especially early in routes with tight coverage, Johnson still managed to produce in most meetings thanks to his ability to win contested catches and make big plays downfield. Their matchups highlighted the classic clash of styles: Peterson trying to limit explosive plays and Johnson imposing his physical dominance regardless of coverage. Even when Peterson did everything right technically, Johnson’s unique skill set often meant he could still come down with the ball, making their duels both competitive and memorable. by @dopejukes

Rob Gronkowski found a memorable way to shut down a potential trade to the Detroit Lions in 2018: telling everyone he was retired. When the Patriots were working on sending him to Detroit, Gronk was already considering his future and used retirement to stop the move. He later recalled on FOX that after receiving the call, he said he was retired and questioned how the trade could happen. The deal never went through.

Gronk made his motivation clear: “Brady’s my quarterback.
I wasn’t going anywhere without Brady.” He stayed in New England and helped the Patriots win Super Bowl LIII that season before actually retiring in March 2019. His storytelling turned the situation into a funny moment, but his refusal to leave Brady had real consequences for both teams—and kept their championship partnership together for another season. by @dopejukes

According to @kalshi, the Dallas Cowboys still have a 33% chance to win the NFC East despite a disappointing 24-16 loss to the previously winless Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Dallas had a major opportunity to gain ground in a wide-open division but instead handed the Buccaneers their first win of the season, moving Tampa Bay to 1-4.

Even after the upset, Dallas remains ahead of the 3-1 New York Giants in Kalshi’s NFC East projections, trailing only the 2-2 Philadelphia Eagles, who sit just above 40%. With the division still up for grabs, the Cowboys remain firmly in contention despite another missed opportunity, according to Kalshi. by @dopejukes

Bucky so underrated

Bucky Irving delivered a career night in Tampa Bay’s 24–16 win over the Cowboys on Thursday, October 8, rushing for a career-high 165 yards and scoring two touchdowns—one rushing and one receiving. His explosiveness powered the Buccaneers’ offense and helped take pressure off rookie quarterback Jalon Daniels as Tampa Bay earned its first victory of the season.

Irving’s biggest play came on the opening offensive snap of the second half, when he broke loose for 72 yards to set up the touchdown that put Tampa Bay ahead for good. He later added a rushing touchdown and helped finish Dallas off with a 22-yard run late in the fourth quarter. From creating scoring opportunities to closing out the win, Irving made his presence felt all night. by @dopejukes

Tough night for Dallas đŸ€§

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers stunned the Dallas Cowboys 24–16 on Thursday night, earning their first win of the season behind undrafted rookie quarterback Jalon Daniels. Dallas led 10–7 at halftime, but Tampa Bay took control with 17 unanswered points in the third quarter. Bucky Irving’s 72-yard run helped ignite the turnaround as the Buccaneers punished defensive mistakes and capitalized on Dallas turnovers.

The Cowboys made a late push with a George Pickens touchdown, but a failed two-point conversion left them needing another touchdown and conversion to tie. Their final opportunity ended when a Dak Prescott pass bounced off Jake Ferguson’s hands into an interception by Alex Anzalone. Tampa Bay escaped Arlington at 1–4 with a much-needed confidence boost, while Dallas dropped to 2–3 after letting a winnable home game slip away. by @dopejukes

Tom Brady and Charles Woodson brought their famous Tuck Rule debate into the living room while filming ESPN’s 2022 documentary The Tuck Rule. The former Michigan teammates reenacted the hit, with Brady demonstrating his throwing motion and Woodson challenging his explanation. Their playful back-and-forth showed that even two decades later, neither was ready to let the other have the last word.

The original play happened on January 19, 2002, when Woodson knocked the ball loose late in the Raiders’ playoff game against the Patriots. Officials overturned the fumble after replay, ruling it an incomplete pass under the tuck rule. New England survived, won in overtime and eventually captured Brady’s first Super Bowl, giving their lighthearted reenactment a history that still stings for Raiders fans. by @dopejukes

Bro passed out after sniffing his j#nk

Texas Longhorns football has opened the 2026 season with a 4–0 record and the No. 1 ranking, putting championship expectations firmly in the spotlight. Wins over Ohio State and Tennessee have given Steve Sarkisian’s team an impressive early résumé, and Texas has held the top spot in the AP poll for four straight weeks. The challenge now is turning that strong start into a full season of consistent football.

Next comes Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry, where Texas will try to protect its undefeated record against a rival eager to spoil its season. The Sooners have struggled offensively, but their defense could make things difficult for the Longhorns. Taking care of the ball and staying composed at the Cotton Bowl will be essential as Texas continues chasing an SEC championship and a College Football Playoff berth. by @dopejukes

Dawg 💀

Maxx Crosby offered an unusual detail about facing Patrick Mahomes, claiming on his podcast The Rush that the Chiefs quarterback “moans” when he gets tackled. The exchange started when co-host Brogan Roback asked about the noises Mahomes makes after a hit, turning a football conversation into some very specific scouting analysis.

Crosby and Mahomes have a rivalry built on intense competition, trash talk and mutual respect, but this adds a much less serious chapter. Football coverage usually breaks down passing mechanics, defensive pressure and missed assignments—apparently, the soundtrack to a sack deserves its own investigation now. by @dopejukes

Lane Johnson announced his retirement on October 6, stepping away during his 14th NFL season with the Eagles. The six-time Pro Bowler and two-time Super Bowl champion had hoped to finish one more season, but said his priorities had changed and he needed to focus on his mental health and family.

A midseason retirement can feel sudden when everyone expects a player to finish the schedule, but Johnson had already spoken about his children and parents getting older and wanting more balance outside football. His departure leaves Philadelphia replacing a cornerstone of its offensive line, with rookie Markel Bell stepping into the starting role. by @dopejukes

Steve Gleason received an emotional tribute from the Saints during Monday night’s game against the Falcons, celebrating 20 years since the Superdome reopened after Hurricane Katrina. His son, Rivers, pushed his wheelchair onto the field as Gleason helped lead the crowd’s “Who Dat” chant, joined by former teammate Curtis Deloatch. Diagnosed with ALS in 2011, Gleason remains deeply loved in New Orleans, and the reception reflected a connection that reaches far beyond football.

On September 25, 2006, Gleason blocked a Falcons punt during the Saints’ first game back at the Superdome after Katrina, helping spark a 23–3 victory. That moment became a symbol of hope for a city rebuilding from devastation and is immortalized by the “Rebirth” statue outside the stadium. His legacy has continued through Team Gleason, supporting people living with ALS through technology, care and advocacy. Monday’s celebration honored both that unforgettable play and the lives he has helped change since. by @dopejukes
