Collecting Nike SB Zoom Tre’s

I’ve been building out this part of my collection, and seeing them together really shows how wild the color blocking, details, thicc tongue and materials were across the line. I wore the Safari, Loon and Skelator looking one and they held up. Some of the others need a reglue.

2008 Nike Air Force 1 “Video Music Box” 25th Anniversary - designed by DJ Clark Kent to celebrate 25 years of Ralph McDaniels’ legendary Video Music Box.

This wasn’t a normal release. Only 25 pairs were created, reportedly reserved for Uncle Ralph and his friends and family.

The details tell the story: VIDEO MUSIC BOX across the midsole, VMB graphics on the heel, metallic Swooshes, and the insole tribute:

“THANK YOU FOR BEING THE FIRST - UNCLE RALPH.”

My pair is a PROMO SAMPLE, with the original box and materials.

Video Music Box helped put hip-hop on television before the genre had the mainstream platform it has today. Add DJ Clark Kent to the story and this becomes a real intersection of sneaker culture and hip-hop history.

1 of only 25. Very happy to have this one in the collection.

HUFQUAKE 🌎💥

The Huf’s in my collection. I love going on mini collections quests. I’m on a Huf one now.

Keith Hufnagel and HUF hold such an important place in sneaker and streetwear history, it’s a fun adventure in finding them. I had pairs years ago and grabbed a couple of the old ones again recently.

New big collection grab Air Force added into the collection. DS AF1 The List (Box signed by DJ Clark Kent).

Nike Air Force 1 ’07 #THELIST - created as part of the Air Force 1 40th Anniversary project involving DJ Clark Kent and Nike.

The concept behind #THELIST was wild: recipients received intentionally mismatched AF1s, with the idea that somewhere in the world was the matching shoe. Keep them mismatched…or find your match and make the trade.

Chicago treated me well. ⭐️

Came to town for SneakerCon and left with a rare size 13 gem!

2003 Supreme × Nike SB Dunk High “University Blue Stars” - DS. OG All. Size 13. Lace bag still attached. ⭐️

Finding early SBs in a size 13 is hard enough. Finding a 23-year-old Supreme high in this condition is wild. They’re just not around in this size.

Some sneakers deserve more than a shelf. 🎸

As I continue building out the sneaker room, I’ve been hunting for pieces that tell the stories behind the shoes - not just the shoes themselves.

This one might be one of my favorites yet.

Nike SB Dunk Low “Gibson Guitar Case” 🎸🌸

The Gibson SB was inspired by the look of a vintage guitar case - distressed brown leather on the outside, bright pink plush on the inside, with the money-and-coins insoles completing the story.

And now I have what appears to be a period AE/Allen Eden guitar display case, complete with Nike SB branding, gold textured exterior and that unmistakable pink interior.

Whether this was originally produced for Nike SB, a skate shop, or another promotional purpose is something I’m still researching. The provenance hunt is part of the fun.

But as a display?

It couldn’t have been made for these shoes any better.

This is exactly what I want the sneaker room to become - not just a collection of sneakers, but a place where the history, design and stories behind them get displayed too.

It’s starting to take shape.

The Quest is Complete.

I can finally say I’ve completed the Nike SB 2002 Orange Box Dunk collection… all in size 13.

This wasn’t something that happened overnight. It was a multi-year chase filled with countless conversations, leads, near misses, trades, and a lot of patience. Like many of the best things in collecting, the journey ended up meaning just as much as the destination.

One person who deserves a special thank you is Dave Millet. Watching your own pursuit of this set years ago inspired me to begin mine. Along the way, what started as a shared passion for sneakers became a genuine friendship, and I’m grateful for both.

To everyone who answered a message, shared a lead, made an introduction, or trusted me with a pair… thank you. You all played a part in this.

Seeing the complete retail Orange Box pairs together -
OG All and in size 13 - is something I honestly wasn’t sure I’d ever accomplish.

I love collecting sneakers in many lanes. I’ve always loved a lot of the PRod colorways.
