Flourishing 🌱

There are moments where you’re doing everything right, showing up, staying disciplined (trying 😩), but deep down you know something’s off. That was me recently. I was juggling so much and trying to still deliver excellence, but I ignored the signs my body gave me to rest. I was running on my own strength.

One faithful day (somebody say faithful day 😂), I tried to fellowship but didn’t “feel” His presence. I whispered, “I know for a fact God is here… He’s within me right?” I played worship music and tried to fix my gaze, but thoughts like “your gym is closing soon oo” kept creeping in. I breezed through Bible study and rushed to the gym because we’re trying to be consistent yeah?😌

Soon, spending time with Abba started feeling like a task to check off. “It happens to the best of us. God probably understands,” I told myself.

Then one day, I felt this unsettlement while walking. I thought it was for my friend (shedid text, we spoke and prayed, glory to God), but little did I know it was for me too, My soul was weary of God’s love. I remember passively asking God, “Show me Your love.”
That same week, I met up with a friend. Our convo drifted to God and she said, “It is a relationship. Yes, discipline is important, but God loves you so much that He longs for you to be in His presence.” It hit different.

Later that day, as I was walking to get hair supplies, a lady randomly stopped me to speak (so rare where I live 😭) and said, “I just want to tell you God loves you and has a plan for your life.” We talked about missionaries and wrapped up.

Then I got home and saw a message from a church friend: “You’re constantly in your Father’s arms. He can never forget you. He loves you.”

Yeah, I shed a tear or a few 😂 (not the moral of the story). But if you’re here, please know: God loves you, Your father does,Jesus longs to fellowship with you. Nothing else will satisfy you (trust me😭).

I’m far from perfect, but definitely God’s work in progress just flourishing in His arms🤍

Some years back, I remember once being in a gathering and noticing someone so fervent in prayer. Their passion startled me, I even thought, “Why display all of this in public?” But that was a skewed perception.

Now I understand.

A relationship with Jesus ignites something in you. A fire. A hunger. A desire to know Him more and to live out His good will and pleasure.

I recently heard a preacher emphasize how important daily devotion is, not because God somehow “needs it,” but because of what it does in us.

Spending time in prayer, in worship, in the Word goes beyond emotions or tears(number one crybaby😭) but It births hunger.

It strengthens faith. It fuels a fire that goes beyond self. It becomes about His Kingdom and His will being done.

So even on days when I feel like it, and especially on days when I don’t, I choose to pray. When my flesh, mind and soul wrestle and do mortal kombat, I choose to study His Word, even when it feels dry. I choose to stay surrounded by people who strengthen me when I feel weak and want to isolate myself.

Because this isn’t just discipline, it’s devotion. It’s yielding all of me to all of Him. It’s more than a daily mantra, it has to be my life.

And the more we seek Him, the more we find Him. The more you draw near, the more He draws near. This fire isn’t just for us to keep, it’s for us to carry, to spread His love everywhere we go, to the very ends of the earth.

To show kindness when it seems so hard, that every act, word, thought reflects Him.

It’s not an easy journey for sure there’re so many days we will fall and act out of character or disobey, but His grace empowers us daily. And that’s the beauty of it all.

The right path to Life🌱

You know those days when your body just says no? That was me, battling the worst cramps imaginable. And if you’re a guy reading this, you won’t truly get it (and honestly, I don’t even want you to 😭 men are dealing with enough already).

That day, I didn’t want to go anywhere or do anything. I just wanted to scroll endlessly and eat Burger King in bed. “God understands,” I told myself.

But then the Holy Spirit gently whispered, “Have you fellowshipped with Me today?”

Hours later, a song kept replaying in my heart with these lyrics: “Bless me with hunger for You.” By @sheisru8th
And that became my prayer. “God, bless me with hunger for You and for the path that leads to life.”

Sometimes we’re so quick to give excuses, valid or not, to pacify our flesh and postpone obedience but I’ve learned that His strength really is made perfect in my weakness.

You can’t truly desire what you don’t have hunger or understanding for. And I don’t ever want to get so familiar with God’s presence that I stop longing for it. I don’t want to get so used to serving that I forget why I started in the first place.

So How do I then maintain or even get this Hunger? This scripture lit up in my mind.

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be completely satisfied.”
Matthew 5:6.

So now, this is my prayer: Bless me, Lord, not just with things or comfort, but with hunger for You. Ignite a desire in me that never fades, a hunger that reminds me that real life is found only in You.

Because I am satisfied with the dissatisfaction that I will never be fully satisfied. It’s a constant hunger for You, Jesus.

He is truly the path that leads to life. And this hunger? This hunger is life. 🤍

Yes, you heard right… the degree wasn’t the biggest gift. 🤍

Picture this: I was that girl in high school who mostly had guy friends (waittt, we listen, we don’t judge…😭). It felt easier, and honestly, I always had the excuse of being the only girl child amongst brothers. I never realized what I was missing out on.

Then God blessed me with a community of beautiful women.
Trusttt me, I cannot fully explain this feeling. It’s something I had prayed for for so long: true female friendships. Friendships that keep you accountable, teach you, encourage you, celebrate you, and love you deeply.

The kind of friendships where someone can look at you and say, “Girlll… you’re misbehaving. Hellooo, get down.” 😂
The kind where you can have real conversations, grow together, learn from each other, and become better because you’re surrounded by people who genuinely care.

This is for the young woman still searching for her people.

Take it to the Lord in prayer. Ask Him. And while you’re waiting, be the kind of friend you’re praying for. Show yourself friendly.
As introverted as I am, I love my space, but I had to learn how to show up for the people I wanted deeper relationships with. I learned to listen just to listen, not always to give advice. I learned to become a safe space. I learned how to be a true friend.

It took time, but I’m so grateful for the way my journey unfolded because that’s how intentional God is. He cares about the details of our lives, and He is just as intentional about you.

This journey brought me beautiful sisters, and I couldn’t even fit all of them into this video. To the ones reading this right now, I am so grateful God allowed our paths to cross.

If you’re that girl still finding your people, know that you’re not alone. 🤍 We’re growing together over here. Follow along as we continue this journey of faith, purpose, womanhood, and becoming all that God has called us to be. ✨

Living Testament of His Love.

BSN, RN 2026. Summa Cum Laude. 🤍

I’ve been trying to find a way to fit six years into one caption... let’s give it a try.

From the little girl who escaped the war in Ukraine, so clueless, hopeless, and depressed about life, to the lady standing here today discovering all that life has to offer is not of my own doing.

From sleepless nights, to waking up at 4 a.m. for unpaid clinicals, to loss, to trying again and again, to healing, to growing, to loving, to learning, and even to becoming the owner of two businesses (@slayedbydee.artistry & @_glossby.dee ). None of it was my doing.

A little flashback…🎞️
About a week after escaping the war, I was still so traumatized by loud sounds that I stayed indoors most days. I remember being in my brother’s room in a country that wasn’t home, with the lights off, I felt like i was going crazy. With tears in my eyes, I kept asking God, “Why? Why another loss? Why would You write my story like this?”

I never knew every chapter would become instrumental for this walk. I never thought He would turn it all around for my good. This happened when I opened my heart to Jesus.

So today, my heart is full of joy and empathy, and if there’s one thing I hope you take from my story, it’s this: your story is not over.

Maybe you’ve never escaped a war. Maybe your path even looks nothing like mine. But one thing remains true. In Christ, there is hope.
His mercies truly endure forever. His love never fails.

The greatest Author is writing my story and this is just the beginning!
He can write yours too.

This degree is more than a title. It is a testimony of God’s faithfulness.

Dorcas✨, the ever gracious, beautiful, intelligent and wise young woman is simply living proof of His love. A living testament of His faithfulness. What a loving Father.

Thank You for everything, Abba. This degree is ours. Ours like crazy. 🤍
And If He wills, maybe we will reach a PhD!🤣👀

To live is Christ and to die is gain.

This statement stayed with me for a while. Trying to understand how someone bound in chains could still consider that life worth living, especially when most of us begin questioning everything the moment life stops going our way.

And I found myself wondering, how did they carry such profound joy while enduring hardship?

Then I realized something.
It was never about perfect circumstances. It was about Christ.

To live is Christ should become our daily posture, our very essence. Knowing that life is best lived in Him. Every heartbeat becoming worship unto Him. Our thoughts, actions, words, even our quiet moments reflecting Him.

And then, to die is gain.
Because there is a deep joy in knowing that after this transient life, we will be united with Christ for eternity. What a hope. What a promise.

I want that reality to be true for everyone, to know Him, to accept His love, and to truly live life in Him.

That the King of glory would leave His throne for you and I… what a love.

And it’s that love that compels me to say, for me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
