So we did it. We got engaged in early summer & eloped last month (still planning our ’21 wedding don’t worry family)!

If there is one thing that 2020 has taught me it is that now is the time to do the things you love, say the things you need, surround yourself with those who make your heart beat and move into the things that bring you joy without hesitation.

I’ve never been so sure of anything. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this partnership is unmatched. You are my best choice and we’re just getting started.

God willing, in 2021 we’ll say our vows again with some of the people in this world who we love the most. I can’t wait until this joy meets that joy ✨💖

I’m proud of me and so grateful for the life that is mine. ✨💖

7 weeks ago I got 20 fibroids removed shortly after getting a confirmed diagnosis of endometriosis that took over 10+ years.

My surgery provided relief from my fibroid symptoms but also revealed that this journey isn’t over for me. Regardless, I plan on showing up for me always! Through rest, advocating in the medical space, relentless joy and whatever else I need.

Life is still beautiful.

Long caption alert ✨🙏🏾

Earlier this week I got an official medical diagnosis of endometriosis. For years it has been highly suspected and I sought out treatment based on this suspicion but there was still some uncertainty and a whole lot of gaslighting.

It took me 15 years to get this diagnosis. 15 years! For a condition that effects about 190 million people. It’s not rare, it’s not new and it is 100% debilitating and effects my quality of life. At this point I have an advance case and I also have multiple fibroids causing a whole other bunch of problems. But the pain & physical aspects aside the part that has been hardest to navigate are the emotions and the shame.

BUT I’m unsubscribing to all that. Literally freeing myself from the opinions of others. So in my little corner of the internet we’re going to normalize conversations about endometriosis, periods, infertility, fibroids etc. because there is no shame and I wish more of these conversations would become normal and not just for women but for everyone. I have absolutely no doubt that this journey ends well for me. I’m actually in a really good head space ✨💖 but it would be so lovely to know that through this journey someone feels less alone, leaves more educated or decides to keep advocating for their body and their health. taken in Toronto, Ontario by @dorcasola
