Continuing my series of tributes to the most inspiring producers:
This one feels especially meaningful following the recent passing of William Orbit.

A true pioneer of electronic music, producer, composer, and sonic visionary, William had a remarkable ability to blend electronic experimentation with emotion, atmosphere, and beautiful melodies, creating a unique and instantly recognizable sound. I’ve been a huge fan of his work since the late ‘90s, and his music has been a constant source of inspiration for me.

From his groundbreaking work with Madonna on her best album ever, Ray of Light, to his collaborations with All Saints, Blur, and his own extraordinary solo productions, he created a sound that was unmistakably his own and helped shape an entire era of music.

The track features fragments from an interview in which William talks about his childhood, his classical music background, and how he first started experimenting with synthesizers, with elements from Madonna’s “Frozen”, one of his most successful productions ever.

For this track, I also used sounds from some of the iconic synthesizers associated with his work - Juno-106, JD-800, MS-20, and DX7.

“William” is part of my ongoing series of “audio portraits,” dedicated to the producers and sonic visionaries whose work has deeply influenced the way I approach and experience music.

Rest in peace, William Orbit. Your music will continue to inspire generations.
