👋 The most expensive thing you can do in business is stay quiet about what you do. Victoria Beckham launched her fashion brand in 2008. For over a decade she recorded losses, year after year. Over £68 million in the red ⛔️ ➡️ She even admitted publicly she nearly broke down trying to save it, but she kept showing up. She kept investing in her brand building and her online presence. She walked Paris Fashion Week. She built her personal brand in public, through the losses, the debt, the doubt coupled with the public scrutiny. ➡️ Then a Netflix documentary gave her new business visibility. Her sales hit £112.7 million. Fourth consecutive year of business growth. Visibility didn’t save her despite the losses. Visibility saved her because she refused to disappear during them. 👋 I know this feeling intimately. As a female entrepreneur and founder, I’ve had failed launches. Products that didn’t sell. Margins that made no sense. Months where I questioned whether my brand strategy was even working, but I kept showing up, I kept speaking, I kept building, even when it felt like no one was watching. ➡️ Because here’s what my entrepreneurship journey has taught me about brand positioning: The small business owners and founders who win are not the ones who waited until everything was perfect. Here’s 5 Lessons Entrepreneurship has Taught Me 👇 1️⃣ Solve a problem, not just an idea Being passionate about something doesn’t automatically mean the market wants it. Find the problem people are willing to pay you to solve. 2️⃣ Don’t fall in love with your business model. Fall in love with the problem you’re solving. Markets change, customers change and sometimes your business needs to change too. 3️⃣ Sales matter more than appearances. A business can look successful online and still struggle financially.
