Hi Friends!
Next up as part of my summer art lecture series will be esteemed photojournalist Martha Cooper. Please join us this Sunday evening at 7:30 PM in Westhampton Beach where I will moderate a visual presentation with her and discuss the early years with the NY Post, National Geographic & more.
Join us as we time travel back through time to the early years of street art photography as captured through her camera lens .
Her photos chronicled the evolution of urban art in a time when nobody was focusing their cameras on the graffiti art genre and what she captured is nothing short of historic.

Dorian Grey Gallery @doriangreynyc was cofounded by Luis Accorsi @titolembi and Christopher Pusey. We had a gorgeous space at 437 east 9th street from 2010-2015. We opened with our first show that brought us full circle to our beginnings in the 80’s!
A beautiful mini retrospective of a dear friend and undisputed maestro of Graffiti: John “Crash” Matos. @crashone
What a great show and fun atmosphere we created, having Tats Crew @tatscru tag a Red Bird subway car together with Crash and other great artists. Sadly, after 5 exciting years the building was sold and our genuine east village gallery’s rent quadrupled. I’m thankful for that run, and will always remember the batshit nuts openings we had! Christopher Pusey @doriangreynyc Carol McCranie @scooterbugz and I @titolembi in front of the Dorian Grey Gallery (located on 9th st. 2010-2015) sometime around 2012.
Carol curated an incredible Stephen Sprouse #stephensprouse exhibition with approximately 30 drawings and clothing by this all time great fashion designer.
The show was titled “Jet Boy” and was a smashing success. Beautiful, in depth and enveloping.
We all know his close relationship to Debbie Harry @blondieofficial and Chris Stein @christein
The three of us met and worked together back in the 80s on West Broadway in Soho where we all sold mostly Graffiti art. We gave shows to Keith Haring @keithharingfoundation , Andy Warhol @warholfoundation . Crash @crashone , Futura2000 @futuradosmil , Ronnie Cutrone @ronniecutrone Rodney Greenblat @mushorodney , Kenny Sharf @kennyscharf and so many others. Those were fun times.
We were a small part of the super exciting art world and it felt good. by @doriangreynyc
