✨ Your authenticity is your greatest attraction. ✨

One of the most freeing lessons I’ve learned in life is that I don’t have to change who I am to be accepted, loved, or valued.

For too long, many of us have dimmed our light, softened our voices, or hidden parts of ourselves just to fit into spaces we were never meant to occupy.

Here’s what I know now: The more fully you show up as yourself, the easier it becomes for the right people to recognize you.

Your authenticity isn’t what separates you from your people. It’s what leads them to you.

You don’t have to chase belonging, shrink to make others comfortable, or prove your worth.

Just BE YOU. Fully. Boldly. Unapologetically. 💜

The people, places, and opportunities aligned with who you truly are will have a much better chance of finding you when you stop hiding.

Your light is not for everyone. It’s for those who recognize its shine. ✨

60 Years of Life. A Journey Back to Where It All Began. 💜

One week ago, on my 60th birthday, I stood inside the building in Kassel, Germany, where my life began. I wasn’t prepared for the emotions that surfaced. In that moment, I couldn’t fully release them. Today, as I reflect, the tears are free to flow.

There’s something profoundly beautiful about returning to your beginnings and reflecting on all the life you’ve lived.

My journey hasn’t been easy. From abandonment and an orphanage at age four, to the struggles of growing up mixed-race, surviving abuse, heartbreak, and unimaginable loss. For years, I felt I was always too much and never enough.

At 40, something shifted. I made a conscious decision to begin loving and accepting myself. The last 20 years have been a journey of becoming, finding my voice, recognizing my worth, and learning to live authentically.

At 60, I’m celebrating how far I’ve come while embracing the freedom to keep growing.

I’m grateful for it ALL. Every person, every lesson, every triumph, and even the painful chapters that helped shape me.

I’ve learned that a rich life isn’t measured by money, but by the love we share, the lives we touch, and the beautiful people who walk alongside us.

I thank God for my life and for my German family, whose love made this homecoming and the beginning of my new decade so meaningful. I can't forget all the beautiful friends that flew into celebrate my birthday as well. Thank you so much!!!

This next chapter is about living fully, loving freely, serving joyfully, protecting my peace, and choosing what lights me up.

Here’s to 60 and a new decade of authentic living. No more proving. No more shrinking. Just gratitude, freedom, love, and SHINE! ✨💜

At this stage of my life, I am no longer interested in becoming who the world thinks I should be. I am fully embracing the woman I am.

I’ve lived enough, loved enough, lost enough, and learned enough to understand that peace comes when you stop seeking permission to be yourself.

I don’t need to prove my worth, explain my evolution, or shrink my light to make others comfortable.

Sixty isn’t about reinventing myself. It’s about the freedom to be ALL of myself. Unapologetically.

This is what it looks like when a woman belongs to herself. ✨💜

💜 Life is too short to worry about what other people think of you!

Prince said it best. He shared that he didn’t worry about what others thought of him because their opinions were a reflection of who they were, not who he was.

One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned is that what other people think of you is none of your business!

Especially in this age of social media, where everyone has an opinion, you have to be unapologetically who God created you to be.

At 60, I’ve reached a place where I no longer feel the need to explain, defend, or seek approval for simply being ME. There is so much peace and power in that freedom!

Life is too short to live according to someone else’s expectations.

So love deeply, laugh often, express yourself freely, and live each day like it was your last!

The world doesn’t need another version of someone else. It needs YOU!

Keep living, keep loving, and don’t forget to SHINE! ✨💜

💜✈️🇩🇪 THE DAY HAS FINALLY ARRIVED… MY JOURNEY HOME! 🇩🇪✈️💜

I’m just waking up to the reality that the day I’ve been dreaming about, planning for, and saving for over the past two years is finally HERE!

Today, I begin a journey that means so much more to me than simply taking a vacation. It’s a journey home. ❤️

When I first began planning this milestone birthday, my brother Glen was supposed to be right there beside me. We were going to experience this together. Although he’s no longer physically here, you better believe I’m taking him with me! His picture will be tucked safely in my wallet, and his spirit will be with me every step of the way. 💜

I must admit, I’m feeling a little anxious, a whole lot excited, and incredibly emotional.

I’m also told I’m trading beautiful, warm, sunny weather for cold, rainy German weather! 😂☔️

Oh well… Germany, here I come!

What I’m most excited about is finally laying eyes on my German family and being reunited with my sweet Jula, who many of you will remember was one of my exchange students. Her family and I have grown incredibly close.

That’s one of the beautiful gifts of hosting exchange students.

You open your home to someone for a season, never realizing that you’re opening your heart to people who may become part of your life’s journey forever. ❤️

On October 26, I’ll celebrate my 60th birthday in Kassel, Germany, the city where I was born. I haven’t been back since 1967. Just thinking about that brings tears to my eyes.

Sixty years of life. So many chapters. So many lessons. So much love. And now, a return to where my story began. ✨

Thank you to everyone who shared travel tips, packing suggestions, and snack recommendations!

I think I’m as ready as I’ll ever be!

I’ll share as much of this adventure as I can. Something tells me I’ll return with a heart full of memories, a few tears, plenty of laughter, and some pretty powerful reflections.

Here’s to honoring the past, embracing the present, and stepping into a new decade of life with gratitude, courage, and an open heart.

Glen, we’re going home. 💜🕊️
