In my dreams, the ‘ber months are for pottering around in cosy cottages without a care in the world.

And Blackbird Cottage might just be *the* cottage.

A cosy three bedroom retreat combining chocolate box character with a relaxed feel throughout.

Outside, the enclosed cottage garden brings another layer of charm to the stay, and is perfect for dogs to explore safely.

Meet Bonnie.

Five-year-old Cocker Spaniel. Head of Dog User Experience.

Every dog-friendly walk, beach and pub near Blackbird Cottage comes personally recommended by her.

Her qualifications: an exceptional nose, an encyclopaedic knowledge of West Dorset's best swimming rivers and an opinion on every dog biscuit CJ Pets has ever stocked.

Bonnie's verdict? Beaminster is a very good place to be a dog. 🐾

Golden hour, pretty streets, coffee and cake a lovely way to spend an afternoon.

Beaminster’s honey-coloured stone looks particularly lovely in the late afternoon light, and its little streets are full of character.

We spent a relaxed afternoon wandering around, enjoying the surroundings before stopping at @cillaandcamilladorset for a coffee and a slice of cake.

Sometimes it’s the simple things that make a place memorable a wander, a few hidden corners to discover and nowhere in particular to be.

Have you visited Beaminster? If so, do you have a favourite spot to recommend?

Isn’t this little cottage just the sweetest?

It's a beautiful gift set from Bramley and is filled with some gorgeous hand wash and creams. The moment I saw it, I instantly thought of Blackbird Cottage, so I couldn’t resist buying it as a little treat for one of our lovely returning guests.
