My first branding project began with a few college friends—designing clothes and showcasing photos I took with my heavy film camera. It was also when my coffee journey started, mainly because I wanted to serve coffee to those who attended our first exhibition. Back then, I didn’t know anything about specialty coffee or what made a good cup—I just thought it would look cool.

After college, I became more intrigued by coffee. I stepped into the world of specialty beans, and it amazed me how different each one could taste. Beyond that, I realized I missed the sense of community after leaving school. That’s when I decided to use coffee as a tool to bring people together, and the idea of creating a coffee social club came to life.

My new project is called “Sotong,” which means “interaction” in Korean. It’s all about connecting people over coffee. I still have a long way to go, but I’m committed to the journey with the support of my good friend. So come check out my new project—let’s Sotong! ☕️✨ taken in Chicago, Illinois by @doseforaday

Clocking out

Passing by a building designed by my favorite, Mies van der Rohe.

Entering Metra’s Van Buren Station, admiring a project I had the chance to contribute to.

Ending the day with my second flat white.

Perhaps this is my second shift as a structural engineer. by @doseforaday

Office man

An architectural stroll with Matt.

What could’ve been another cold, quiet photo session became an afternoon of getting to know each other, exchanging stories, and wandering through downtown Chicago. I was happy to show him around a city I’ve come to know in my own way.

Somehow, between the buildings and the conversations, we caught some crazy shots—and I felt completely at ease in front of his lens.
