And just like that… intern year is OVER. 🫶🏾

I’m ngl, this year has been HARD. The transition from being a medical student to being someone’s doctor, someone’s surgeon, someone’s first call in a moment of need… is truly crazy. Nothing could have fully prepared me for that.
Intern year stretched me, humbled me, challenged me, and grew me in ways I’m still processing.

There were moments where I genuinely contemplated if I could do this, but there were also moments that reminded me exactly why I’m here.

Grateful for the lessons, the growth, the patients, the people who poured into me, and the version of me that kept showing up even when it was hard.

I had my heart set on Howard for med school. It felt like the perfect fit—my dream.

But life had other plans.

The pandemic delayed my MCAT and pushed back my timeline. If you know this process, you know timing is everything. Still, I applied to both MD and DO programs, ready to begin the journey and trusting that God would guide me.
I told Him, “Wherever I’m accepted, I’ll go.”

I was blessed with multiple DO acceptances—and I never looked back.

And now, years later, I get to train at the very place I dreamt of in the beginning.

God truly does everything in His due time.

For the last 10 years I have been actively working towards this goal, a WHOLE decade. If I ever made it look easy… it wasn’t. God has literally carried me.

I sit here still in awe. He put a dream in my heart, a dream that I even tried to ignore… but God said my child is going to walk in her purpose.

God is faithful.

I am going to be an OB/GYN 🩺🤰🏾🥼🤍
