Focus on you, and they will too. 💚

God works in mysterious ways when THEE favorite daughter is involved. ✨

4 months went by in the blink of an eye. Living in New Haven this summer was transformative. I saw the good, the bad, & the indifferent. I made sure to pour back into the community that embraced me and that I got to call home from May - August. I was honored to give back to a place that gave me so much!

I’m grateful for the experience, the challenges I faced, the beautiful memories, the late-night pep talks, and simply enjoying life as an ambitious college student.

Not too bad for someone who was quite nervous on her first day. ⭐️

2026 was Yale. Where should I go next summer? 👀🎓

There was a time when the younger, quieter, anxiety-filled Shian wondered if her voice would ever be heard.

Today, I’m honored to be featured in Governor Ned Lamont’s latest video! 💚

Looking back, I realize that finding your voice isn’t about becoming the loudest person in the room. It’s about having the courage to show up, serve others, and speak with purpose.

I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunities I’ve had to advocate for students, serve my community, and contribute to conversations that help shape Connecticut’s future. Moments like these remind me that growth happens one step, one conversation, and one opportunity at a time.

Thank you to @govnedlamont @nedlamont and his team for including me in this project. And THANK YOU LORD, for continuing to guide my journey! ⭐️

👀 Now I need your help! This is the full version of the video, but I’ve already spotted shorter versions being shared. If you happen to come across this campaign on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TV, or anywhere else, let me know where you found it! I’d love to see all the places it reaches. 🎥📺📲

🗳️Lastly, Tuesday, August 11, 2026, is Election Day in Connecticut! If you’re eligible to vote, please make a plan to cast your ballot. Every election matters, and every voice counts. Best of luck to everyone running in their respective districts across our beautiful state! 🌱

Cheers to continuing to learn, serve, and become the best version of myself. ✨

One thing about Shii? She’s going to keep betting on herself and the purpose God placed on her life! 🥂

I had the incredible honor of being recognized as a member of the Afro-Latino, Black & Latino 30 Under 30 Class of 2026. What a privilege it is to be surrounded by so many trailblazers, changemakers, and leaders making an impact in their communities every single day!

The night was filled with hugs, laughter, heartfelt compliments, and so much joy. I can honestly say l’ve never attended an awards ceremony quite like this. The evening featured a live band, a fashion show, a pageant, and I even had the privilege of witnessing 🇵🇷Miss Puerto Rico Connecticut 🇵🇷be crowned and sworn in. It was a beautiful celebration of culture, excellence, and community.

To everyone who has poured into me along this journey... my chosen family, mentors, friends, colleagues, professors, and supporters, THANK YOU! Your encouragement, guidance, and belief in me have helped shape the leader I am becoming. 🫶🏾

It will always pay off to lead with intention, serve with humility, and dream without limits. 🌱

The journey is far from over, and with God’s grace, the best is still ahead.

Thank you oh so much to @afrotainoct @chi_rafi @cmillzy829, the sweetest volunteers, and the entire board for making this possible for young innovators in the state of Connecticut! 💚

Do NOT buy into imposter syndrome!💚

Last month, I had the pleasure of serving on the Volunteer Team for the 13th Annual @nationalhbcuprelaw National HBCU Pre-Law Summit & Law Expo, held on the campus of @nccueagle North Carolina Central University! ⚖️🎓

As a 1st gen college student & aspiring attorney, this experience was one of one. ⭐️

From connecting with representatives from law schools ( & collecting all the freebies 😂) to attending a mock law school admissions session, an informative deans’ chat, financial aid workshops, LSAT prep, AND SO MUCH MORE… I most definitely had a ball.

One quote from an attorney speaking during a session has stuck with me ever since:

——>Struggle is temporary. Overcoming is permanent.<——

This is a reminder that the challenges we face don’t define where we end up. Sometimes the journey is uncomfortable, but you’re on it for a reason.

I’m grateful for the experience, the people I met, and the opportunity to serve humbly as a volunteer while learning.

Nothing is impossible with God! 🫶🏾

When was the last time a bank told you they loved you? 😅💚

A little late to the grid, but back in February I spent the day taking in 16th-floor executive views at @mandt_bank Bridgeport headquarters for the #SHEWORKS Women’s Luncheon. ✨

We toured the executive wing, connected with professionals, and heard from incredible women leaders.

The day also happened to fall on my late father’s birthday, which made it especially meaningful. Instead of letting grief take over the day, I chose to spend it learning, growing, and surrounded by inspiring women. 🕊️

And this little handwritten note? Definitely made my day. 🥹💚

Thank you M&T Bank and LiveGirl for such a meaningful experience.

It’s never been quiet on the creek. 🥂✨

Recently, I was honored to be recognized as a member of the Afro-Latino, Black & Latino 30 Under 30 Class of 2026. 🏆

Life be lifin’ AND it’s definitely not easy, but this award is proof that showing up still matters!

Every day, I wake up with one goal: to keep chasing my dreams and become the person God created me to be.

Being surrounded by so many accomplished young leaders making an impact across Connecticut, reminded me that purpose has a way of finding those who refuse to stop.

Thank you to @afrotainoct for creating a space that celebrates leadership, representation, and community. Congratulations to my fellow honorees too! It was an honor celebrating alongside each of you. 🎉

To everyone who has believed in me, prayed for me, opened doors for me, & supported my journey... THANK YOU! 🌱

Next stop: @forbes 30 Under 30. In Jesus’ name. Amen! 🧿
