There is something deeply grounding about sitting in a cool, running stream, surrounded by nothing but green leaves and the distant, rhythmic call of the Brown-headed Barbet.✨

Their vibrant green bodies blend flawlessly into the foliage.

Painting this beauty while listening to the water felt like tapping into that exact same creative, patient rhythm. 💚

🌳 Habitat & Habits:
As resident frugivores (fruit-eaters), they absolutely love wild figs, banyan berries, and neem fruits. They are nature's architects, using their heavy, powerful bills to excavate deep nesting hollows inside dead or decaying tree trunks."

700+ Thanekars take to streets to #SaveSGNP✊️

🚨 A 50-year-old clerical paperwork mistake has sparked a massive legal battle over 193 acres of SGNP land in Thane!

The Mistake:
Decades ago, a government error in the paperwork left the land's official status confusing.

The Lawsuit:
A private landowner (Dayabhai) claimed rights to the land. The High Court agreed with them and ordered the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) to pay the landowner a massive ₹2,800 crores in compensation.

Additionally, the TMC has reserved ~100 acres of forest land for a manmade biodiversity park and a 14 km long foothill road by destroying the healthy ecosystem with 250+ bird species, 40+ mammal species, 1300+ plant species and much more. Thid is completely unnacceptable to the citizens of Thane!
