Pakwheels DVC - Car Inspection | Director’s cut The journey of creating the DVC for PakWheels was an incredible experience for the entire Filam Productions team. From the initial brainstorming sessions to the final edit, every member brought their best to the table with passion, creativity, and unwavering commitment. Though the project came with its share of challenges, it was the spirit of teamwork, collaboration, and problem solving that made it such an exciting and rewarding process. Together, we pushed our creative limits, adapted to every challenge, and delivered a campaign we are truly proud of. READ CAPTION 👇🏼 At 25, I got married and felt the weight of responsibility for the very first time. Projects dried up. Money was tight. And yes, I did Bykea bike rides to keep things going. I am proud of that. You do what you have to do for the people you love. Then I saw a LinkedIn post from someone I had looked up to since university, Tanzeel Raza. He was looking for an Assistant Trainer. I applied instantly. Zero experience in that industry. He was surprised when he saw my CV, 7 years in media, applying for training and business development. The complete opposite of my world. But something told me to go for it. I sat there every day asking, what am I even doing here? I was married. I felt lost. I kept asking ALLAH, why am I here? But those 4 months quietly changed me. I learned how to negotiate, how to train people, how to sit with CEOs, how to build systems. And most importantly, how to find ALLAH when everything feels uncertain. Me and Tanzeel Raza bhai were also collaborating on his brand and marketing. It was genuine and I enjoyed every bit of it. Then the call came. An NGO invited me to Afghanistan. 13 days, 4 provinces, disaster relief documentary. National Geographic type level. I was beyond thrilled. When I landed in Kabul, the NGO said something I was not prepared for. "Can you train our Bamyan staff on camera and visual storytelling skills?" I could not speak for a moment. Har Kaam Mein ALLAH Ki Maslihat Hoti Hai. I had heard this my whole life. But in Kabul, I felt it. Every detour, every doubt, every bike ride, every confusing month, it all connected in one single moment. Here is what I took away: - Niyat matters. Keep moving and ALLAH will honour it. - You will find people who believe in you when you have nothing to offer. Not accidents. - Dreams come true. Even the National Geographic kind. - Har cheez mein ALLAH ki raza hoti hai. Trust it. - Your time and effort are never wasted. Never. This journey also covers a chapter of depression. Very dark. Very heavy. I will share that openly in a coming post. There is a way through it, and I have lived that proof. Stay around. There is more to share. by @dothashmi
READ CAPTION: 👇🏼 Starting From Zero. Again. Honestly, I never thought I would be writing this post. But here I am. It all started back in 2016 at a summer camp organised by an NGO. I was just a kid with no real direction, and somehow I ended up holding a camera for the very first time. Something about that moment just felt right. Fast forward, when I got to university, that spark only got bigger. I stumbled into video production and honestly, it felt like I had found my place. The photography background helped a lot, the eye for framing, the angles, the way you feel a shot before you take it. One thing led to another and I built a career as a Director of Photography (DOP), working across commercials, documentaries, social media content, you name it. It was a good run. A really good one. But somewhere in the middle of all of it, I kept feeling like something was missing. I was always trying to balance Deen and Duniya, like they were two separate things pulling me in different directions. And then one day, it just hit me. They were never meant to be separate. Deen is not something you balance alongside life. It is the foundation of it. I just needed to reframe my lens, shift my perspective, and trust that when you align with what Allah has asked of you, everything else starts to look exactly the way it was always meant to. So here I am. Starting from zero. With a new lens and a lot of faith. And honestly, it feels like the most exciting chapter yet. I am building new systems, working on new ideas, putting together something that actually means something to me. It is still early days, still figuring things out, but the energy is different this time and I think that matters. This is just the beginning. In the posts ahead, I want to share the journey with you, the real stuff, the decisions, the doubts, the moments that brought me here. If any of this sounds familiar to you, I hope it helps. Stay tuned. The best frames are still ahead. by @dothashmi
