Come and watch me decorate this pot!

First, I start by sketching out the design

Then I paint on two layers of Kiwi underglaze. It doesn’t matter if you go over the pencil lines because they burn out during the first firing.

Then I etch into the pattern

Next, I add little dots of underglaze and then dry the pot out ready to go into the first firing.

The decorating process on this mug has just taken me 3 hours! Thought you may like to see it.
I really enjoy this process so much but I’m not sure how to a)make it cost effective or b)make the process more efficient or c)not be afraid to charge more!
I may have to re-think things! #pottery #ceramics #potteryprocessvideo #potteryvideo #process by @dotterypotteryuk

One of my favourite parts of throwing a pot on the wheel is the finishing!

Here, you will see how I centre the pot ready for turning and how I create a foot.
