SOFT GOODS opens September 25th until October 11th.

Come by for drinks on the 25th! We are looking forward to meeting you all!

Soft Goods explores how soft materials can be used to create form through process. This exhibition asks participants to experiment with pliable, flexible, or malleable materials; such as fabric, foam, paper, silicone, or others to shape objects that reveal the creative potential of working with softness.

We're glad to be back Toronto, we missed you!

Montagu Table by @regg.y_

The Montagu table explores the use of different polyurethane foam densities in one same object. When casting this table, equal amounts of 3 unique types of PU foam is poured into a mold in order to better showcase their individual properties. The medium density is used for a more stable base and a bit of height; the low density, to gain maximum height, and the higher density for a harder top. This amalgam of foam disregards the need of a structure, with each layer serving its own purpose; thus highlighting the use of a flexible material as a playful alternative to a commonly solid object.

LAMP 01 by @thelizlenny

Bringing together ideas of weaving, beadwork and mesh, Lamp 01 is made from alabaster offcuts that becomes bead-like when tied together with aluminum wire. These aluminum connections provide the "softness" and contribute to the irregular form. During the design process a variety of "soft" materials were tested for the connectors, including string, wire, and chord, all which resulted in different levels of tension with the form. The types of connections also had direct implications on stiffness ranging from quite loose to extraordinarily stiff, losing all sense of "softness". The final result creates softness and irregularity through two materials that don't necessarily have connotations of softness - metal and stone.

GOM by @ag_kone @arnaud_deglise

GOM is a system of steel components that securely join 1/2-inch-thick boards in a multitude of configurations. The boards are assembled perpendicularly in a T-shape.The joining piece is made from a sheet of metal; the shape is cut and bent using a matrix and a hydraulic press. The piece acts like an exoskeleton, easily sliding onto the boards and ensuring the system's resistance to various mechanical stresses.

We wanted to highlight the effect of the bent metal, the deformation, and its raw, organic form. We wanted to show the bend, guiding the material without completely restraining it, allowing the form to be created by “itself”.

SS26 by @sarahyaorishea

Drawing from the intricate beadwork of haute couture, the restrained floor lamp is enveloped in a long, hand-woven beaded shade. The beaded shade drapes gently over the spherical glass globe, conforming to its contour before cascading naturally toward the floor. Once past the form, the structure loosens and elongates, allowing gravity to shape its final expression. This transition redefines the shade as something relational and structured, no longer fixed in place but suspended in a state of soft tension between object and space.

Though composed of hard, glass elements, the piece expresses softness through its structure and assembly. Here, softness does not reside in the material itself, but emerges from the logic of connection, each bead contributing to a flexible, textile-like surface that adapts and responds to form.

Telar by @martxgg

Exploring the relationship between softness and structure through light, a handwoven textile, delicate and inherently unstable, is held in tension, becoming both surface and structure. Under strain, it reveals a quiet sense of order, its irregularities held in balance as softness becomes a controlled, luminous plane. Light passes through the weave with subtle variation, creating depth, shadow, and a gentle shifting rhythm.

Bridging craftsmanship and industrial structure, the collection includes both a table and floor lamp. Here, textile becomes an architectural element rather than a covering, reinterpreting the language of weaving through contemporary design, where softness becomes a way to shape light, form, and perception.

Soft Host Collection by @antoinejeraj @atelier.igorzigor

These lamps take form through the accumulation of natural liquid latex, poured, stretched, and settled over a spiked structural frame. Derived from the tree or reimagined through bio-based mixtures, latex functions as secretion, protection, and wound. Pigmented with natural elements gathered from the forest and soil, the surface holds traces of the ground from which it emerges.

Beneath this skin, a rigid, thorn-like structure presses outward, threatening to pierce the skin that contains it. What appears to have grown is in fact inhabited. A foreign light and imposed structure occupy the interior, turning the object into a soft host for an external presence. The membrane filters and diffuses this intrusion, allowing it to glow through rather than dominate. Suspended between organism and object, the work stages a quiet conflict between what is grown, what is imposed, and what resists containment.

Sealers by @atelierfomenta

Atelier Fomenta presents Sealers, an installation unfolding through a carpet, a cluster of cushions and a chair where different faces of a material—made of repurposed vapour barrier and journals come together to create a reading room or the peddler’s room.

Each piece reflects unicity: each slipcover carries a different story, drawn from diverse time and places. The material becomes a capsule of time layered through the everyday use of the objects.

EVA by @etienne__vernier

Inspired by foam puzzles of my childhood, the EVA lamps bridge the gap between a sculptural object and a humble, familiar toy. The pieces assemble easily, forming a stable structure without complex mechanisms.

Quilted Vessel by @maeganjunecollins

The Quilted Vessel challenges the perception of clay as a rigid material by exploring the relationship between ceramics and textiles. A hand-sewn fabric vessel is used as a positive to make a plaster mold. Each vessel is then slip casted, allowing the plush, delicate qualities of fabric to be captured in clay. The result is a surprising tactile response that subverts expectations of ceramic surfaces.
