The Academy by Elin Hilderbrand and Shelby Cunningham - 3.5/5 ⭐️

This book is light, soapy, and entertaining, which makes it a fun escape. Just be aware of the trigger warnings, because it touches on some heavy topics, including eating disorders, suicide, and alcoholism. My biggest struggle was the sheer number of POVs. When a story jumps around so much between this many characters, it’s hard to really care about any of them, and that kept me from getting as invested as I wanted to be. It’s still a fun, easy read that fans of Elin Hilderbrand will enjoy, especially if you’re curious to see her try something a little different from her Nantucket beach reads! by @doublethereads

In the Likely Event by Rebecca Yarros - 5/5 ⭐️

This book was SOOOOOOO GOOD!! Finally read a book that mom hasn’t read before so can have my own review! I love everything by Rebecca Yarros she is so good. I loved this plot of them meeting by chance and then it never working out yet with the timing or logistics but they somehow kept ending back up together. I loved the dual perspectives as well as jumping back and forth from time frames. This is a must read!!!!!!!!!!!! Wooohooo by @doublethereads

Lade Tremaine by Rachel Hochhauser - 4.5/5 ⭐️

I loved this retelling of Cinderella from the wicked stepmother’s point of view! It’s a great reminder that it costs you nothing to give others grace, because you never know what someone is going through behind closed doors. "The" dress reveal was the CRAZIEST part of the whole book for me. I also loved the redemption - it was such a girl power ending, and I closed the book feeling like I’d never look at the original fairy tale the same way again. If you love a villain origin story with heart, this one is a must-read! by @doublethereads

Bad Honeymoon by Jessie Garcia - 4/5 ⭐️

This book reinforced how much I love a multi-POV thriller! At first, there were a lot of perspectives to keep track of, and for a while I had no idea who to trust or where the story was headed. Then it TOOK OFF, and I was completely locked in. It was so gripping that I had no clue what would happen next, and I definitely did NOT see that twist coming. If you love a fast-paced, twisty thriller that keeps you guessing until the very end, add this one to your TBR before it releases in January! Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC! by @doublethereads

And Now, Back To You by B.K. Borison - 4/5 ⭐️

This book had me smiling from the very first page, starting with all of my hometown call-outs! Baltimore is such a fun backdrop, and getting to check in on Aiden and Lucy was an added bonus. Then there's the ONLY ONE ROOM situation, which I love to see coming. What makes her books stand out to me is how her characters talk to each other and care for each other, and the found and created family surrounding them is my favorite part of every story she writes. Between her writing, her female leads, and her Baltimore setting (plus her House of Maher interview, which I loved), she's quickly become a must-buy author for me. If you want a cozy, snowed-in, opposites-attract romance with a whole lot of heart, this one's for you! by @doublethereads

The Castaways by Lucy Clarke - 4/5 ⭐️

I really like multiple POV and dual timelines, so this book was right up my alley! Alternating between Erin's search in the present and Lori's chapters from the past kept me flipping pages as fast as I could. Erin is a sister who never gives up, even when everyone else has moved on, and I kept rooting for her the whole story. Figuring out what actually happened was crazy and so satisfying - I was truly surprised by the ending. If you love a mystery/survival story, with sisterhood at the heart of it all, this is the book for you! by @doublethereads
