So this Christmas is going to be slightly different.

Earlier this year, we lost the sweetest little grey bear that ever lived. There has not been a day that goes past that I haven't thought of him.

Bert was ill for some time, I always tried to believe that he would get better but he took his last breath with both his mama and pops stroking him so he knew we were there.

The very next day after Bert left us, at the corner of my eye I saw the little grey rubbish bin from the bathroom at the top of the stairs and for 000.1 second I thought there he was! Then the sinking hollow feeling returned knowing he was gone.

I've tried a few times to write this post, but it's so incredibly hard letting the people know I've lost my bathroom buddy and sleeping partner.

Doug's getting there! His had to discover new sleeping places as he has not been back to the places he shared with Bert, he has been so vocal and it's been heart-wrenching seeing him miss Bert!

Wherever he is, i hope he is happy and at peace! I hope he has all the tuna, ham and chicken he can get his paws on along with a side dish of whipped cream.

Forever in my heart, until I see you again 💙 by @douglasandbert
