We just wanted to take a moment to thank your amazing community for all the support this past weekend— and so far this week!— after the flood. Special shout out to our neighbors who, without hesitation, jumped to our (and other’s) aid—Woody you are the real MVP!!!

We are back in action but many of our neighbors are still feeling the lasting effects; so let’s keep the train rolling and show up for them as well!

The fact that you’re stopping in, buying gift cards, and shouting us out means so much to us. This is how our small businesses stay healthy and thriving, we keep our dollars close to home and build community— that’s so much of our whole goal with the bakery.

Ultimately our greatest resource will always be each other.

So proud to be pulling shots of the one and only @woodburlcoffee Abyssal Flame— a washed process Columbia/Ethiopia blend— on the daily. From the very first I felt the choice for coffee at the bakery had to be Woodburl—Brett and co really have something special going on up in Dayton (at home we have been hardcore loyalists for a decade or so). The craft, attention to detail, and passion are so very present in the coffee. It’s such a joy to serve alongside the pastries.

Come see for yourself— or grab some for home. We’re fully stocked on retail bags of the aforementioned espresso blend and Agua de Dios (affectionately God Water to the real ‘burl heads— or at least @misserjoe ) by @dovetale_bakery

Lately we’ve had some folks asking if they can buy a whole cornmeal ricotta cake— and the answer is a resounding yes!

The cornmeal cake has been a menu mainstay since we opened and even though it’s not flashiest pastry out there it’s definitely a staff and regular favorite. Made with @janiesmill golden cornmeal and almond meal— it’s both gluten free and a crowd pleaser (and really nice with coffee or tea tbh).

New this weekend! Heirloom tomato croissant— @snowvillecreamery white cheddar custard and local heirloom tomatoes topped with caper powder. Simple, straightforward, tasty—classic tomato pie vibes.

We’ll have a limited number of potato burger buns on the counter tomorrow and Friday! They’ll be available 4 packs for your grill out needs!!

All organic flours, beautiful cultured butter and roasted potatoes— topped with @marshhenmill benne seeds (benne seeds are heirloom sesame seeds!). Tbh they are excellent.

Of course we’ll have our full menu of seasonal pastries, sweets and coffee the rest of this week except Saturday July,4 — we’ll be closing for the holiday and reopening as usual on the 5th. Hope to see you soon! by @dovetale_bakery
