In Dower, biracial (Black and Japanese) Cassidy journeys with a magical dog-flower, exploring identity, love, and justice in a world longing to heal.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Hi! My author name is T. Rayson-Woods and I’m the creator of Dower and PIE in the Sky Publishing.

My husband is partnering with me to realize a childhood dream and has been a guiding light on this journey. He believes in me and my purpose. 🥹

I wrote Dower during my 10th grade year in high school! I expanded the story of love, light, and unity when my niece #cassidyreign was born in 2012!

Cassidy reminded me so much Namiko, the daughter of @jheneaiko and @0ryan0ryan when she was little, that it reminded me of how we are all connected despite ethnicity and culture. I aimed to create stories that celebrate our connections vs. our divides.🫶🏾

Hence, Cassidy Aoki was born to be the real life counterpart to the #magicalrealism story of Dower! We hope you’ll accept the gift of this story into your world. by @dowerthebook

Dower crosses age, ethnicity, cultures, and genres, so we’ve been working on ways to get its message to varying audiences who may judge the book by its cover. By creating real opportunities to show the connection points within the story to real life, we truly feel we can continue to realize our purpose of ushering in #love, #light, and #unity.

Whether you’re an adult looking to bridge cultural or ethnic gaps in your own family, work in an environment where barriers exist because of lack of understanding, or a adolescent/teen/student who doesn’t have a forum to discuss what it means to feel like you don’t belong, Dower has a message for you.

And because we truly feel everything is connected, we are making efforts to highlight other authors and discuss those connection points. For the first theme we are prepping for we included works from @jamesmcbrideauthor, @nicolesjchung, @brettdschneider, and @martellusb.

We are also working on creative installations which will make the story more accessible to younger readers. by @dowerthebook

God will show, remind, and keep guiding you every single day that you are experiencing this realm in this form. It is only up to your human consciousness to become aware of the signs, put the pieces of the puzzle together and keep becoming a better player of this game that we call life 💫

My name is Takeisha, but my Pen Name is T. Rayson Woods. I’m the founder of @pieintheskypublishing and the author of @dowerthebook. I believe we are all connected, that everything is connected, and we have the ability to change our perception of the world by a mere thought. I also believe stories and storytelling are magical and that we are moving toward the nostalgic feels created when what we imagine for our highest and greatest good is brought to life.

I’d love to meet you @theblossommarkethtx tomorrow. If it is aligned, I’ll see you there. 💫 If not, I trust that I’ll be aligned to the right people, at the right time, in the right space. taken in POST Houston by @dowerthebook
