Maybe it didn’t need replacing… maybe it just needed reimagining. 👀

I’m giving our fireplace a budget-friendly makeover by painting a DIY faux marble finish over what we already had because apparently my toxic trait is believing I can make anything look expensive with a little paint. 😂

Lately, I’ve been trying to slow down on doing things just because they’re trending and focus more on designing a home that actually feels like ME while still sticking to a budget. So before replacing something, I’ve started asking myself, “Can I make what I already have work?”

So… black faux marble fireplace it is. 🤌🏼
Is it real marble? Nope.

Did I spend real-marble money? Nope.
Did I trust the process WAY more than I probably should have? Absolutely. 😂

And honestly, that’s my favorite kind of DIY working with what you have, getting creative, and creating a home that feels collected instead of copied.

SAVE this DIY fireplace makeover if you have a fireplace you’ve been itching to change, and send it to the friend who would absolutely try this with you. 👀
Would you try a painted faux marble finish?

comment "seal" and I'll tell you what I used and how to heat proof it!

POV: you stop designing your home for trends and start designing it for YOU. 🏡

Some of my biggest DIY regrets weren’t necessarily bad projects… they just weren’t me.

I spent years jumping from one home decor trend to the next, starting DIY projects, abandoning rooms halfway through, changing my mind, and wondering why my house never quite felt finished.

So I’m changing that.
I’m going back to the unfinished projects.

Fixing the DIYs I regret. Making slower design decisions. Mixing old-world character, vintage-inspired details, thrifted finds and budget-friendly DIYs to create a home that actually feels collected instead of copied.

Less “what’s trending right now?”
More “would I still love this in 10 years?”
And yes… there are a LOT of questionable DIY decisions to undo. 😂

If you’re tired of constantly redesigning your home to keep up with trends, stick around. We’re building a home we actually love this time.

Save this if you’re entering your ✨ stop decorating for the algorithm ✨ era too.

A little curbside treasure, a little paint, and a VERY specific vision.
Turning an old desk into the girly vintage desk of my daughter's dreams. Because apparently I can't just buy furniture like a normal person.

DIY furniture makeover, a little vintage charm, and a whole lot of beautiful chaos.
Would you have painted it or left it alone?

24 lbs down since July 🥹

But the number isn’t even my favorite part.
I feel better. I’m showing up for myself differently. I’m learning that the medication can be a tool, but the healthy habits I’m building alongside my GLP-1 weight loss journey are what I actually want to keep.

Tell me you're obsessed with thrift flips and budget DIY home decor without telling me. 😂

My camera roll is basically roadside furniture finds, DIY furniture makeovers and home renovation ideas my husband never agreed to.

Please tell me I'm not the only one who sees a piece of garbage and immediately starts planning its makeover.

SEND THIS TO YOUR FRIEND WHO CAN'T PASS A FREE PIECE OF FURNITURE. 💀
