POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Tonight, @rorcal_black_metal celebrated the release of their new album MAHRE, which I had the pleasure of recording, mixing and mastering at @downtonestudio

A 40-minute descent into darkness.

Go listen to the album, and catch them live if they’re playing near you! 🤘

Rorcal -- “MAHRE” is out today.

I had the pleasure of recording, mixing and mastering this absolute beast at Downtone Studio.
The challenge was pretty intense, as Rorcal record live, everyone playing at the same time. The whole thing was recorded over a long weekend, after which they handed me the countless keyboard, sample and FX tracks, and I could finally dive into the mix.

Mostly at night. By candlelight. 🕯️

I probably summoned a few unhealthy spirits in the studio along the way. They seemed to know exactly what to do to help me shape this nightmarish creature.

I’m really happy with how this one turned out. A huge thank you to my friends in Rorcal for their trust, their talent, and for bringing so much darkness into the studio.

Rorcal -- MAHRE
Out now.

Little by little, I’m learning my way around Pro Tools.

There are still plenty of things I don’t know and a lot of questions to ask, but I’m incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by amazing people. Learning from experienced and passionate professionals is a privilege, and every day is a chance to grow.

Today, despite all the questions, I had a great time. Between learning and experimenting, I finally got to plug in a few guitars, improvise, explore new sounds, and simply enjoy making music.

It’s a long journey, but I’m enjoying every step of it 🤍🎙️🎸🐺

Today, we spent another day at the studio 🤍

The project keeps taking shape, and it’s exciting to see it grow step by step.

Right now, we’re exploring the gear, discovering new sonic colors, and getting to know every corner of the studio as we continue shaping our sound and identity.

We can’t wait to share what’s coming next.

This is only the beginning🐺🎙️

Setting up different drum kits, testing Audix microphones, experimenting with microphone placement, exploring the room acoustics, preamps, the console, and various recording setups, all complemented by Meinl Cymbals 🎙️🥁

A great opportunity to gradually discover the studio, understand how it works, and explore the many possibilities it offers for WNM’s future productions 🤩

Another productive day at Downtone Studio 🎙️🥁

Today’s focus was on setting up the drum kit, testing microphones, and recording. A great opportunity to keep learning and work with professional studio gear.

I also had the chance to work with Audix 🎙️🍭 and Meinl 🥁 products, and the experience only reinforced the great impression they leave on me. The quality and performance of their gear are truly outstanding.

A huge thank you to Anna for another great day, for sharing her knowledge and experience. We’re making great progress and keeping the momentum going 🤘

Finally, congratulations to Night Rider and Midwinter on the release of their new track, “Namesake”. An awesome song that perfectly fits today’s post and is definitely worth checking out. Well done, and looking forward to hearing more 🔥🎶
