What a day, downtown Simcoe! 🍎

Thank you to everyone who came out to Norfolk Applefest on Saturday - the streets were buzzing, the displays were beautiful, and the apple everything did not disappoint!

A huge thank you to @norfolkagsociety, our vendors, our volunteers, and every business who took part in the decorating competition.

Downtown Simcoe wouldn’t be what it is without this community showing up for it.

We can’t wait to do it all again next year.

Thank you to everyone who came out to Applefest and checked out our storefront decorating competition - the displays this year were incredible!

Congratulations to our top three:

🍎 Applefest is TOMORROW!

19 downtown businesses have decked out their storefronts for our decorating competition and the winner will be announced tomorrow at 1 PM at Applefest!

Business owners, it’s time to dust off the pumpkins, string up the lights, and turn your windows and sidewalks into a fall showstopper.

Downtown Simcoe is looking a little brighter this week!

Our sidewalks received some much-needed pressure washing today, clearing away the dust and grime of a busy summer season.

If you’re heading downtown in the coming days to squeeze in the last bit of summer, take a moment to notice the difference and while you’re at it, stop in and say hello to the shops and businesses that make our downtown what it is.

From packed sidewalks to street festivals, every event this season has been a reminder of what happens when a community shows up for itself.

Thank you to everyone who danced, shopped, ate, laughed, and lingered a little longer on in our downtown core. We see you, and we’re grateful for you.

Thank You, Simcoe Lions Club!

Despite the rainy weather, Saturday’s BBQ with the @thesimcoelionsclub was a blast. A huge thank you to the entire Lions Club team for putting together such a great community event, and to everyone who came out to support it, rain and all.

Events like this are what make downtown Simcoe special, and we’re already looking forward to making this a tradition.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and to all the families who joined us. We couldn’t ask for a better community.

Volunteers Needed: Simcoe Lions Club BBQ, This Saturday

Please share widely!

Downtown Simcoe BIA is proud to be partnering with the Simcoe Lions Club for this Saturday’s community BBQ, and we’re looking for a few extra hands to help make the day a success.

With over 400 people expected across three hours, some friendly, reliable support will go a long way.
Here’s where help is needed:

Kids Zone / Bouncy Castle Supervision

Staff will be on site, but an additional adult nearby to keep an eye on things would be a great help.

Picnic Table Upkeep

We’re looking for two volunteers to help tidy the picnic table area between families throughout the event. With 16 tables in use, a bit of ongoing cleanup will make a big difference.

Drive-Thru Assistance

Lion Doug and his team will be running the drive-thru for guests on the go. A hand or two is needed to help answer questions and safely direct traffic into the Riversyde parking lot.

General Support

From time to time, a Lion or volunteer may need someone to cover their station for a short break. Extra hands here would be much appreciated.

If you’re able to lend some time this Saturday, please reach out.

It’s a great chance to support a wonderful downtown Simcoe tradition - many hands make light work, and it’s shaping up to be a fun afternoon.
